“To Spain?
I blurted out as Nadav told me about his three day business trip in two days.
“Yes. I’m really sorry princess. Unfortunately I need to meet with the clients this time. I promise to call every three hours. No, make it every hour.”
“You sound like an obsessive boyfriend.”
“Maybe I will become one. Do you have any idea how it is, not to see you even once a day? It’s enough to drive me crazy.”
Nadav went behind me and began to put butterfly kisses on my neck, his hands gripping my hips, pulling me closer to him. That was enough to start that certain fire inside me, every inch of me began to burn for him.
“Oh, crap! Do I really need to see this so early in the morning?!”
We were both startled at Roen’s comment. He stood by the door, his hands crossed on his chest and well, he wasn’t pleased.
“Why don’t you two get a room?” he glowered at both of us as he made his way to the kitchen, while Nadav made no effort to let me go.
“Alright, alright. I’ll leave after I get a taste of those experimental donuts of yours.” Nadav said.
I was excited with Roen’s idea too; yesterday he said he’d make donuts, but with a twist. He got the dough out and began cutting it into O’s, and as soon as he made a dozen, he dunked them in the deep fryer and prepared the glaze afterwards.
“I got excited over a sugar glazed donuts?” Nadav said, half teasing Roen. Upon hearing that, he walked over to the fridge, picked up a package and dropped it on the counter in front of us.
“Prosciutto?”
I said in surprise. He’s going to put prosciutto on top of the donuts?
“This should be interesting…”
While waiting for the donuts to cool down, Nadav’s cell phone rang and he excused himself. He went out of the shop before he answered the call.
Lately he’s been taking calls out of earshot – he’d always excuse himself to take a call then he would return distracted. I don’t know if it’s just about work that’s got him all worried like that. Maybe it is…maybe it has something to do with his business trip to Spain, he did mention it is a big deal and if it pushes through, he’ll have restaurant branches at different hotels there. But why does he have to take every call where we can’t hear him? That and he seemed distant these past few days.
“Roen, I need to talk to you.”
Nadav said as he quickly opened the door then went out again. Puzzled, Roen went out and seeing how animated their faces were, I can safely assume they were arguing, again. Just as I was about to leave the counter to stop them, Nadav took a glance at me and gave Roen a knowing look and he headed inside. Roen remained outside, looking frustrated.
“I need to go, princess.” Nadav said and grabbed his coat.
“Wait, what’s going on?”
“Nothing, I just need to take care of an urgent business matter. I’ll see you later, okay?”
I nodded as Nadav leaned down and gave me a quick kiss on the forehead and left.
“What happened, Roen?”
I asked as soon as he went in. His face suddenly lit up, obvious that he only forced himself to look better.
“What do you mean what happened?”
