*UNEDITED
There was a crazed look in Eirik’s eyes, as if he was possesed. Suddenly, my worries were replaced by an enormous fear that crept up my spine. The memory of that night when he assaulted me and almost raped me came back clearly, it almost made me want to throw up.
“Not bad, Isla.” He began, looking around the shop. I remained planted on the spot where I fell, too afraid to make any movement. “I wonder how you got your rich boyfriend to set up a shop for you like this?”
Eirik knelt down beside me and I flinched involuntarily.
“Relax, I’m not here to hurt you.” I didn’t believe that. “I just want to talk to you.”
My mind raced. How am I supposed to get help now? Surely he will notice when I try to call someone…that would probably provoke him more. My last hope now is Roen – if he ever decides to come home early.
“Let’s go!” He growled and he grabbed me by the wrist and dragged me to the front of the shop. “Sit down.” he quietly ordered, and that alone was enough to give me goose bumps.
“Do you have any idea what happened to me after that night?”
“I do…you deserve it…” I said with my last ounce of courage. It was a wrong move.
His hands slammed down hard on the table and it startled me. My heart nearly jumped out of my chest, if that was at all possible.
I can’t panic now…
“That lawyer friend of yours…what’s her name? ah, Tracey. She made sure I wouldn’t have any life to go back to.” Without any warning, he threw one of the stools onto the glass shelf, breaking it, sending shards of glass flying into the air. “Do you know that there’s an outstanding warrant of arrest for me?” and another stool went flying, breaking another shelf.
“Please, Eirik…don't do this...”
I merely whispered this time. I had a hard time finding my voice. Out of nowhere, his hand hit me, landing on my face again. My whole body trembled in shock and for a few seconds my vision blurred. Pain and terror shot through me as I felt this nefarious intent emanating from him. Eirik gave me a sadistic smile before he proceeded to destroy everything in the shop again.
I wanted to stand up, to run away but I knew my knees will betray me. As soon as I closed my eyes, tears fell as I tried to block out the noise Eirik made from breaking the glass shelves, tables…everything.
With trembling hands I forced myself to pick up my purse in an effort to look for my cell phone and call for help. Suddenly, everything went eerily quiet.
He was staring at me with the same horrifying expression he had that night when he tried to rape me.
Run, Isla…
I quickly stood up to run away from him, but he was much faster than I was; that and the fact that my body felt like it had given up on me. Eirik easily caught me and effortlessly dragged me to my room. I struggled with all my might – scratching, kicking, slapping, but it was all in vain.
No one is coming to help you…
Why wasn’t anyone coming to help? For sure the neighbors have heard the noises and should have at least called the cops. But I don’t hear anything, nothing at all.
“Isla!!!”
That voice!
“Nadav, help me-“
