UNEDITED

I woke up when I heard someone was doing something in the kitchen. I had no idea how I got to my bed, but I clearly recall downing that small bottle of vodka last night…and now, I feel the effect of it. Hangover…

My head pounded and I felt sick and I wanted to throw up.

I sat up on my bed as carefully as I could and there was a small bucket beside my feet. I quickly grabbed it and you know what came next.

“Still not done?”

It was Tracey. I was too busy throwing up I didn’t even hear her come in. I set down the bucket, grabbed a couple of tissue and wiped my mouth and sunk back into bed. What is she doing here?

“Really, Isla? A bottle of vodka? What were you thinking?”

My head pounded even more when Tracey raised her voice.

“Tracey, please…not now…” I groaned.

“You know you don’t drink that well. What’s going on?”

“How did you get here?” I didn’t want to answer her question.

“By car, how else would I get here?”

I gave her another groan. Seriously, I had no strength to deal with her. Not in my current state.

“Victor called me up this morning. He’d been ‘nursing’ you all night.”

“What do you mean…”

“All he told me was that he came here at around midnight and you were nearly passed out. You’ve been saying incoherent things and yeah, he took care of you.”

And then I realized, I was wearing a shirt and a pajama.

“Did you change my clothes?”

“No, he did. Apparently you didn’t make it to the bathroom and threw up on the floor.”

Another groan. I had to let Victor see my miserable state last night.

“He cleaned up everything, Isla. Including the dress. I’ll ask you about that later, but I need to know what’s going on. The last time you were like this was when you found out about Victor. Is this because of what happened at the club?”

“No….” but it had something to do with that.

I wanted to tell Tracey but I stopped myself at the last second.

“I’m such an idiot…”

“What did you do, Isla?”

Then I shut up. Tracey would have probably hit me with the lamp shade after I tell her what happened with Nadav and when I had dinner with Roen. And about Nadav being a head chef and not just a waiter – who thought I was on a date with Roen after I rejected him the night before.
