How much more awkward can our position be? Nadav still has his left hand on my waist and his right hand was on my chin with our faces only inches away from each other.

“Seriously?! This is what I’m going to see after I hear you shrieking in here, thinking this guy did something to you?”

Roen began, full of arrogance like always. I happened to look outside and there was the blue convertible parked across the street.

“Is that your car?” I asked after Nadav let go of me. I don’t have any idea how I look like right now, or even Nadav. I couldn’t look at him now, but based on the flour marks on my shirt, my face could be worse.

“Yes, what about it?”

So that was just him? After all this time freaking out like that, trying to reason with my overactive imagination and debating whether I should call the cops, it’s just Roen?

“Are you stalking me?”

“I don’t think that’ the right word to use. I was merely observing you.”

My jaw dropped in disbelief. That’s basically the same thing!

“Get out. You’re trespassing.”

I firmly said before I felt Nadav’s warm hand held mine.

“Please, stay.” He said, making my jaw drop lower than the last time. “We’re making muffins, if you like you can stay and have some.”

“Nadav! That guy stalked me for nearly two days. Why the hell would you invite him?”

I protested with all my might as Nadav firmly held my hand.

“It’s too cold outside. He’s been there for the past half hour.”

He was? I didn’t notice and I really don’t care if he freezes to death out there.

Nadav had seen him and he didn’t even tell me. Maybe because he knew I’d be in a bad mood if he told me. Looking at Roen, he was a little pale. Yeah, I’ll be civil today but…maybe I can give him some coffee spiked with a laxative or something.

After a brief fighting inside my head, I finally gave in. I invited Roen in and gave him a cup of coffee. He sat on the counter stool regally like some royalty sitting on his throne.

“Is that decaf?” he asked as soon as I set down the cup in front of him.

“I’m sorry but this is the only coffee we have left.  If you want you can go to your coffee shop and get decaf there.”

After a very brief hesitation, Roen took a sip from the cup and gave  me a smug look. I rolled my eyes and surprisingly, he smiled, a satisfied smile.

Quit it, Isla. Don’t give in. he’s basically still a kid and he is doing this to tease you. Ignore him, maybe he’ll go away sooner than you think.

In silence, I managed to finish mixing the ingredients and placed the muffin tins inside the oven. Alright then, 20 minutes more. By this time, Roen had taken his coat off and hung it on the back rest of the stool he was sitting on and his coffee is almost finished. And here I thought he was choosy; he can drink regular coffee after all.

“More coffee?” Nadav asked Roen.

“No, no. I’m okay. Thank you.”

He spoke faster than usual and he fidgeted on his seat. He also kept on playing with the hem of his coat.
