Screaming tears throughout the white room as a girl thrashed around on the floor in the corner on padded floor. Nurses rushed in but even in a straight jacket she was classified as a danger and an extreme case, fear shone in their eyes as they tried to get close enough to her to give her the medication.
Baring her canines at the nurses, she panicked. Her amber eyes wide in fear like that of a caged animal, flashing between her normal amber and striking violet, the girl crouched low, swaying from side to side as she hummed a song of a love long gone and a life left behind; the same song her mother sung to her when she was a child as she tucked her into bed.
"we won't hurt you, but we need to give you medication. To help you get better" cooed the matron as she raised her hand towards her, as one would do to a wild animal to show they meant no harm.
"What do you want with me!" she screamed "leave me alone!" she cried staring past the nurses at a shadowy being. Invisible to all but her. Its hand outstretched towards her and she screamed again, a screech of terror and agony. The nurses held down her arms and legs and administered the one thing that would calm her enough to co-operate. slowly her limbs gave in and her body collapsed into a panting heap on the ground, the nurses backed away from her and rushed out of the room muttering between themselves oblivious to the girl listening in to their conversation about her. All that could be heard throughout the room was heavy breaths and a beautifully haunting song, coming from the plush red lips of a girl wrongly trapped in naughts and crosses mental institution.
