Field after field passed by as I found my eyes getting heavier and heavier, my mind slowly stopping its thought process as I drifted off to a terror filled dream.
My aching bare feet pounded against the forest floor as the darkness closed in on both sides. I struggled to stay upright as thick branches and knobbly tree roots hit and tripped me at every turn. The snarls and growls grew louder as the bloody white gown I was wearing tangled around my legs making it harder and harder to run. My throat started to close up as I ran out of breath, yet still I ran as I had no idea of the consequences if I stopped.
A large black shape with eyes the same as him appeared in the right of my vision, and I screamed as it lunged; its razor sharp talons raking across my arm. I take a sharp turn trying to outrun its large yet oddly agile body. But I was in its domain, the domain of the blood hounds and there was no way out. it pounced again this time knocking me to the ground; I struggled, I screamed and I cried yet its weight remained firm on my stomach, just as it was going to rip through my Flesh I shot up covered in sweat my hair sticking to my face as I breathed heavily, I looked down to see my arm bleeding a wound that was a perfect match for the one in my dream sitting on my left arm from my shoulder to my wrist.
that was no dream,it was too realistic. I try to calm my erratic breathing as I watch the wound close itself, leaving nothing but three identical claw marks and a deep black mark. Tapping on the screen that separated me and Nicholai I watched it roll down in fascination. "Nicholai, when do we reach the airport?"
"We're here now miss. Why don't you look out of the window?" He replied kindly with a pleasant smile that seemed to calm me down more than I had been so far.
"Alright Nicholai. Thank you" I respond as I turn to glance out of the window. I'm so awe-struck that I barely hear him tell me that it was no problem. Buildings towered above us with bright flashing light. The sky was different hues of pinks, purples, oranges and blues as if somebody had used it as a canvas. I was able to see a vast expanse of water in the distance and wondered if it was the Ocean that was talked about in the fairy tales the nurses used to tell me when I was still a child, I'd always wished I could go to the beach to see the ocean but mother sent me away before we had a chance to go.
Right in front of us was a huge building that read 'Dradgi port ' in sapphire letters. Nicholai pulled to a stop in front of the building before, getting out of the car and opening my door for me. Stepping out Nicholai walks me through crowds of busy people. Some hugging and kissing. Others talking face to face or through glass orbs. My jaw clenched as I moved closer to Nicholai who was acting as a shield to protect me from the strange sights around me. When we reached our destination we were standing on a rough road facing a sleek plane. When Nicholai carried on walking I followed behind, half jogging, half walking to catch up with him.
"Nicholai, what are we doing here?" I ask still staring up at the towering mass of metal in front of me, feeling cooler now I'm in its shadow.
"We're going to fly, miss" He answers watching my reaction carefully but I couldn't care less as I continue to stare in awe of the beautiful vehicle. "If you'd come this way, I'll show you to your seat." He lead me up a set of stairs that lead into the colourful interior of the jet. I sit down on one of the emerald green seats on the plane and look out of the window; soon after it sets off I fall into a dreamless slumber, praying for no dreams.
