So here I was sitting in a plush purple chair wearing black trousers and a galaxy hoodie with matching purple and black soft sole shoes and a small satchel resting by my feet, while I waited for a car to pick me up from naughts and crosses mental institution.

A long black car arrived at the front of the institute and a hulking mass of muscle with a bald head and kind smile stepped out of the front door and signalled me to enter it through the door he opened in the back. "The names Turner, Miss. Nicholai Turner. Now we need to hurry if we are going to get to the airport on time" He spoke as if he could sense my hesitance to go any where with somebody I didn't know. "Matron sent me. You are Eleanor-Raeis are you not?" His voice was strong and warm. It was filled with gentleness yet firmness at the same time.

"Y-yeah I is. I mean am.. I mean yes I am she. her, Eleanor. I am Eleanor." I stumbled over my words shocked at the royal purple that shone from this man like a beacon. I had never seen an aura so clearly before. One had definitely never showcased such a dark colour, nor had they danced quite so happily as his did.

He Just chuckled and ushered me into the car his aura becoming lighter and darker as it writhed and swayed. I grabbed my barely filled satchel and slowly took step after step until I reached the vehicle, swiftly sliding in, I gasped in awe at the smooth black leather seats and mini-bar filled with sparkling water, ice and lemons. Lost in my thoughts I rubbed my hands on the smooth chair I was resting on as Nicholai closed the door and climbed in his side starting the engine and driving away from the only place I'd ever known. My temporary home. I thought back to the first time I had crossed the thresh hold of that haunting building.

Flashback

"Mommy, this buildings gives me weirds." A little six year old girl pulled her mothers arm and whispered conspiratorially to her. The older woman just smiled down at her young child, with understanding as the building radiated with hopelessness and a hidden sinister intent.

They strolled down the bleached white halls and were greeted by a lovely woman with skin the colour of chocolate. The girl strolled off to explore the hall and where it lead to, when she was struck by her most powerful sight yet. She collapsed to the floor her body convulsing and blood leaking from the corners of her lips. A man in black walked towards her, she could see herself on the ground and yet she was unafraid. He got closer and closer until eventually he was the only thing she could see. "I'll see you again sweetie, always fight for daddy, never give up. They will beat you and curse you and rip your soul to shreds. But you are strong and you must always remember where you come from and where you are destined to go."

His lilting voice and powerful presence captured her attention and though she  knew that every moment with him was one closer to the unknown, she could not unwound her small arms from around his neck where they had taken up residency. "You are always safe when with your mate, but, they may not always be safe when  with you. Sometimes holding on to false love is more fatal than letting go."

He strolled behind her body being carried through hallways and doorways. His whispered promises trailing away as he pressed a kiss to her chubby cheek and pulled her arms away from where they threatened to cut off his air supply. He plucked her from her space against his chest and placed her back into her vessel, pressing his lips to her cold forehead and disappearing from her view. A warmth left where his lips had pressed against her head.

When the young girl woke again she was strapped to a bed with leather ties in a white room with no windows and one door. Her mother was nowhere to be seen and the sense of comfort she had once, had fled in the face of absolute terror of being alone.
