Ch.1 | The Umbrella Man

       

                     Kathleen's P.O.V.

Romantic music played softly in the background of the restaurant as I took a sip from my red wine.

My brown hairs were curled from the ends, hanging loosely behind my back. The diamond earrings and the necklace that I was wearing tonight with my cream coloured dress with black sash gave me an elegant look as my makeup was on point, complimenting my look.

"So, what are your hobbies, m'lady?" The rich man sitting Infront of me asked as I tuck a stray hair behind my ear, giving him a shy smile before speaking,

Just like Mother told me to do so.

"I like to read literature in my free time and I enjoy helping mother in household chores, Mr. Jonas" I smoothly replied to him as I saw him nod in approval.

"If you don't mind me asking, what are your hobbi--" before I could ask him, a Waiter Interrupted us as he whispered something in Christopher's ear.

"I'm really sorry but I have a really urgent issue to deal with right now, I'll be back shortly." He gave me an apologetic smile as he turned around to leave with that waiter.

Seriously?

As he was out of my view, I wiped out the smile from my face and sighed in relief.

'Oh god, who thought smiling can be this hard?'

As I was checking my Jaw, I saw Christopher coming back towards the table and I quickly straighten out my posture and faked a smile again at his arrival.

"I'm really sorry for the inconvenience, but the hotel's owner should be there whenever needed right?" He said with a smile of arrogance, talking about his possession of this hotel.

"Ofcourse, Mr. Jonas. You're such a hardworking person, I'm glad to have met you." I said wiping the side of my face with a napkin as I internally cringed at my own self.

"The pleasure is all mine."He said taking my hand in his and giving a short kiss at my knuckles as I smiled slightly at the gesture.

"Well, as I was saying before-" before I could complete my sentence, the same waiter from before interrupted me, yet again.

"Oh god, I'm so sorry Miss Kathleen but I have to go urgently. I'm afraid I can't accompany you tonight and you have to go alone. Beg my pardon, m'lady" He said before walking away before kissing my hand shortly without giving me a chance to react.

This man, I swear I'm going rip his head off the next time I see him.

He doesn't even have basic etiquettes of treating a lady. Idiot.

I looked around as I noticed people staring in my side, whispering within themselves.

I stood up and quickly made my way outside not wanting to endure the embarrassment of being left alone any longer.

And I thought, this evening was going to be good.

"That idiot, what does he think he is, leaving me all alone after literally courting me to have a date with him for months." Continuing my round of insults, I started walking back.

It's really hard to walk in heels.

As I thought my day couldn't get any bad then it already is, I was proven wrong by the nature. Great.

People ran for a cover outside and umbrellas were opened as the clouds spat out their beads of water.

Mentally groaning as I didn't have any umbrella or any mean to get home safe, I let my gaze wander around, finding a shelter to stay for the meantime.

I started running difficultly because of my heels and the puddles began plinking as the rainfall became heavier, soaking me completely.

I came to a halt as the rain suddenly stopped. Removing my hands from my head, I looked up only to find a man standing before me with an umbrella covering us.

My eyes widened as I Locked eyes with the stranger, an extremely handsome stranger at that.

To say he is handsome is definitely an understatement.

Dark brown hair, covering his forehead as they were long enough to touch his ears.Angular face with a sharp jaw, thin lips and eyes,

God his eyes, Beautiful brown eyes in which you can drawn yourself by how intensely he stares at you. The eyes that cut like a knife but at the same time can see through your soul.

His Spartan shoulders spoke of strength and authority. It's not like he's extremely mascular but neither under-built with a distinct aura that stands out in a crowd.

"Miss?" He waved his hand in front of me with a confused expression as I flushed slightly knowing how I shamelessly checked out this stranger.

So much for being lady-like.

"Ah, yes sir" I said as he smiled and God, if I don't want to just squish his cheeks right now.

Control Kathleen.

"Don't call me Sir, that makes me feel old" He stated with a chuckle making my cheeks flush.

Am I seriously drooling over a stranger right now?

But it's not like I got to meet handsome ones like him everyday so..

"Then what should I call you?"

"Taehyung Kim, My name. But just call me Taehyung and what's your good name?"

"Kathleen Williams" I said as he smiled charmingly before taking my right hand in his and giving a kiss at the knuckles making me bite my lower lip slightly.

"A pretty name, for a pretty lady like yourself" He said before he widened his eyes in realisation as he saw me shivering slightly due to the cold.

"Hold this for a few moments, please" he said hurriedly handing me the umbrella before taking off his coat and putting it on my shoulders.

"There wasn't any need for this but thank you for being this considerate about my well being" I said slowly as he just smiled in response before taking the umbrella from me.

"This way" he said making me walk in the inner side of the pavement as he started walking alongside me acting as the barrier between the road and I  and making sure the umbrella covered my form fully.

He's such a Gentleman.

I told him the way way to my home which fortunately wasn't that far as we didn't talk much expect for a few remarks here and there yet it was comfortable, just walking beside him.
