Scent of cigarettes filled my nostrils as I entered my house wincing slightly, still not used to this alien odour.

Making my way into the living room, I greeted, "Good evening, Father and Mother"

"Oh Kathleen, dear. You're finally here, we were just talking about you" Mother exclaimed happily with her wide grin as I stared back confused.

"What were you talking about me, Mother?"

"Christopher came, earlier today" I sighed visibly, not pleased to hear his name again.

"What about him?" I scoffed, not a bit interested in this topic revolving around that particular certified idiot.

"Behaviour, Young lady" Father said from his rocking chair with a cigarette in his hand as I sighed before apologizing.

"Anyway, he came and said he wants to take you out on a date this Friday because he enjoyed his time with you, dear" Mother said as if this was the greatest news of this week.

"But mother, he left me alone, the last time I went on a date with him. I had to walk home, alone" I said not even a bit pleased about it.

And yes, I lied about walking home alone because if my parents knew about me walking with some man alone in the night,

They'll surely disown me.

"We've discussed this before too, dear. He's a busy man and what else do you expect from a owner of a famous restaurant. You should feel lucky that you have such fine chances to win his heart and being treated as a princess" Mother explained as if it was the most common thing ever.

"Mother, i-" before I could even complete my sentence she glared at me making me shut up as I nodded slowly.

"Now go and prepare for the date. Friday is just around the corner" She exclaimed with utter happiness as I made my way towards my room with a sour mood.

'One date wouldn't hurt, right?'

                         - Next Day -

"What do you mean by one date wouldn't hurt huh? Where's your self-respect?" Betty exclaimed loudly almost catching the attention of the whole cafeteria as I shushed her and gave an apologetic smile to everyone.

"You can't just shout like that, Betty"

"And you just can't accept to go on a shit like date with him again, Kat" She said through gritted teeth as I couldn't help but chuckle at her protective behaviour.

"I can't decide for my own, you know that better than anyone else" I said twirling the straw in my smoothie absentmindedly.

"God, just as I think it isn't possible to hate your parents more, they prove me wrong" She exclaimed throwing her hands up to show her disapproval, leaning back in her seat.

"It's alright, besides it's just a date. I guess I can endure it" I said slurping loudly before sighing slightly at the sweet taste of the smoothie.

"I'll go to church and pray for your safety" she said making me laugh.

"Don't exaggerate, it's not like I'm going on a war or something" I teased as she scoffed at me.

"Well, dealing with that piece of shit is not less than that" She said before popping a peanut M&M in her mouth and munching on it delightfully.

Just as I was about to speak, a voice, oh-so-familiar, interrupted me making me lift my head up slightly to have a clear view of his face.

"Good Afternoon, ladies" He said with his soothing voice and a charming smile looking handsome as ever as I just to melted like a butter on a toast.

"Good afternoon to you too, Taehyung" I said with a small smile after Betty greeted him.

"I wouldn't take much of your time. Kathleen, can I talk to you for a moment?" He said gently smiling at me as I nodded before we walked out of the cafeteria and into the side of the playground.

"Well, what did you want to talk about?" I looked at him in curiosity as I saw him biting his lip, avoiding any eye contact.

Wait, is he nervous?

"It's alright, you can say whatever. I won't bite, unless you want me to" I said as I whispered the last part before encouraging him to continue with a smile.

"Ah, yes, w-well I bought these for you" He said pulling out a small bouquet of white clovers from his back as I noticed how his ears turned red slightly before handing me the flowers.

"Oh my, these are so beautiful, thank you so much, Taehyung" I exclaimed happily, sniffing the sweet scent of the flowers as he smiled in response.

"And t-this too" he said nervously before handing me a small card as my eyebrows furrowed in confusion before I took it and unfolded it to read the content inside.

  Miss Kathleen,

I cannot sit Astride the fence
To watch you pass along;
It might work well in summer time,
But winter spoils the song.
Please will you let me see you home,
From a diner next Friday night?
Don't think about anything else, perchance you think is right.

               -Taehyung Kim

I blinked slowly as I could feel my face heating up because of this adorable note. A little old fashioned, yes but nonetheless, extremely cute.

Can he get anymore sweet?

"So, will you go on a date with me this Friday?" He said looking down nervously as my eyes widened slightly remembering about the date with Christopher, which was also, this Friday.

I want the ground to swallow me, like right now.

"Taehyung.." I started off lowly not having the heart to reject such a fine man but do I have a choice? No.

"I'm really sorry but I have some important work to do this Friday.." I said avoiding his eyes as I heard him sigh lowly.

"No problem" he said in a heartbeat as I looked at him stunned before he nervously scratched his neck and giving me a small smile. "Then, I won't hold you for long and take my leave" he said before walking off.

'I want to go on a date with you though'

I pouted as a soft sigh escaped my lips and turned around to leave with the Beautiful flowers and note as well.
