It was snowing.
Charlie gave a satisfied sigh as he watched the snow fall, leaning his head against the window. Snow meant Christmas, and Christmas was always his most favorite time of the year. Well he kind of hated it right now considering he had a cold and was barely able to smell anything. But it was at least beautiful to look at
"It's pretty mesmerizing huh?", he heard Jason's smooth voice from across the room, where he was sitting on his bed and Charlie turned to grin at him, "Yeah, it takes my breath away"
He wiggled his penguin sock covered toes at his lover with a sly smile, "Like every time I look at you"
Jason's mouth dropped open and he looked flustered for a second before the most beautiful smile appeared on his face and he laughed, "Wow. Charlie Hayes is a cheesy motherfucker, who woulda thought"
"Only for you sweetheart, only for you"
"Come here, baby"
Charlie sauntered over to him and sat on his lap, straddling him, his arms wrapping around his neck. Jason's hands rested on his hips as he leaned down to kiss him. It was delicate, like a brush of soft feathers, a cool breeze after a long summer day. Charlie suddenly pulled away with a soft groan, "No I don't wanna get you sick too"
"I'm not gonna get sick", Jason chuckled, "I hope"
"Me too", Charlie huffed, "You're a grumpy bastard when you're sick"
Jason pressed their foreheads together, "Aren't you the one who didn't sleep all night because his nose was stuffy"
"I'll deny it"
Jason fondly ran his thumb over Charlie's cheekbone, slowly breaking away to look into his eyes. They were startling, holding his gaze as they sensually moved down his body, as if memorizing every single detail.
"I love how you look in my clothes", Jason then whispered, his fingers tracing the hem of the warm sweater and Charlie smiled. He seemed to be doing a lot of that lately, smiling, "I love wearing them"
Jason glanced away, looking nervous, "Char, look..I um wanted to ask you something"
Charlie frowned, searching his face, "What's wrong"
"No nothing's wrong, It's just-", he huffed, "My dad's death anniversary is tomorrow and I was wondering ifyouwantedtocomevisithimwithme"
Charlie raised his eyebrow, "Yeah I didn't get any of that", suddenly his eyes widened as understanding settled into them, "OH"
"Yeah"
"Of course, I'll come with you"
Jason looked relived as he nodded, "Thank you"
"I can't believe it's been four years"
Jason let out a small laugh, "Yeah I know, I still can't believe he's gone, much less for four years"
"Come on sweetheart", Charlie grabbed his hand, pulling him towards the bed until Jason was laying on his lap. They were silent for a few long minutes when he felt Jason's body tremble, his hands gripping the sheets tightly.
"I miss him", he choked out, his head sagging in defeat.
"I know baby, I know", Charlie ran his fingers through Jason's soft blonde hair, "He was a good man"
Charlie was suddenly hit with a staggering feel of Déjà vu to back when they were fourteen and Jason had been crying in his lap. His grip on the other man tightened hoping history didn't repeat itself and Jason actually stayed this time. It was wistful thinking, he knew but hey, it was Christmas and maybe he should have a little hope.
They stayed like that for a while until a knock on the door interrupted them. Charlie jerked up, expecting Jason to flinch away from him but instead, Jason lazily opened his eyes, rolling up from his lap to focus on Harley, who was standing near the doorway, leaning against a wall.
His brother grinned, "Well that's the most domestic thing I've ever seen", his voice dripped with fake distaste, "Sickening"
Jason rolled his eyes, snuggling into Charlie, "Shut up"
"Leave him alone, Harls", Charlie said, looking up at him.
Harley huffed, "I mean look at him, he's like a cat", he did this weird wiggling motion with his body, "With all the purring and cuddling"
Jason narrowed his eyes at his best friend, "I do not purr"
"You do too"
"No, I don't"
"Yes, you do"
"No"
"Yes"
"No"
"Yes"
"N-", he yelped as Charlie whacked him on the head with a pillow, "STOP"
Harley cringed, "Oof thank god I'm not in the receiving end of that"
"You're supposed to be my best friend", Jason grumbled to him, raising his head away from Charlie and getting of the bed.
"Yes, but", he pointed at Charlie, "He's scary"
"Well,", Jason nodded, almost like he agreed, "True"
Charlie groaned, slumping back onto his bed, "Assholes"
Harley moved towards them, holding out a bowl of liquid which Charlie assumed was soup.
"Dad made it", he said, "He told you to not come down until you've drank the whole bowl"
Jason laughed and Charlie groaned, "Come on"
Harley narrowed his eyes at him, "Not my fault you plunged face first into the snow"
He felt Jason struggle to hold back his laughter, "You're right", Charlie said, "It's his", he jabbed his finger into Jason's ribs.
Harley rolled his eyes, patting him on the head, "Eat your soup you big baby, it'll make you feel better"
"Thanks, Harls"
Harley nodded at them before walking out, closing the door behind him. Jason straightened up, pulling them both into a sitting position, "Drink up"
Charlie let out a hacking cough, groaning, "God my head hurts"
"I know, baby", Jason murmured soothingly and maneuvered them so he was sat against the headboard, Charlie's back pressed to his front, "Come on, I'll give you a massage, it always works for me"
He then threaded his fingers through Charlie's hair, his fingers slowly massaging his scalp, moving to his forehead and back. Charlie found himself relaxing, "Thanks, Pierce"
"Don't worry about it, Hayes"
