Charlie

"Be here on time okay? I can't wait", Charlie told his sister as he parked his car in the lot, pissed that there still was no sign of Harley. What was up with people and keeping secrets from him today?

As usual, Liam was waiting for him leaning against the lockers talking to Mia, one of his best friends. Smiling he threw his arm around her shoulder, effectively tucking her head underneath him. "Hi", she said, her green eyes bright. Mia was beautiful, with long brown hair and deep green eyes she was one of the most beautiful people Charlie had met. He was gay yes, but he knew beauty when he saw it. Somehow, Mia managed to look happy every day and made sure they were happy too. It made him wonder if she really was okay or if she was just putting on a cover. Charlie was all too familiar with that.

"Morning", he ruffled her hair a bit and moved away just in time as she smacked him. Charlie's eyes moved to Liam and he scrunched them up as he noticed how happy his best friend looked, he was grinning from ear to ear, his teeth flashing. Liam grins weren't rare, he was one of those people who could make you laugh just by looking at them but today, his smile was different, almost relaxed.

"You look happy", Charlie noted.

He nodded, "I do, don't I?"

Charlie couldn't help but smile, "I don't know who she is but I'm glad she makes you happy"

Something like guilt flashes in his eyes before he quickly turned away, "Yeah, that means a lot man"

He wanted to ask him what was going on, but never got the chance because Jason took that time to hassle him. Charlie had to admit, with his light blonde hair, blue eyes, and high cheekbones, he looked good, really good. Jason's  jeans accentuated his ass in ways that made his stomach churn. Man, he'd fuck him any day if he wasn't such a major asshole.

Jason walked over to him, licking his lips and for a moment Charlie wondered how they would feel on his own.

Fuck. Stupid brain

Jason assessed him, his eyes running up and down his body in a way that sent heat rising up his neck, before he smirked, "Damn Hayes, didn't know you wanted to be a smurf"

Fuck, Charlie had forgotten about his hair which was surprising since it looked like a neon sign on its own. He snorted, "Well let's just say some guys have weird kinks", Charlie winked at him, "You care that much?"

Something flashed in Jason's eyes before he turned away, "I don't"

"Right, don't you got other shit to do?", Charlie drawled, raising an eyebrow mockingly, "Like running around in the field throwing a stupid ball?"

Jason glared at him, "Says the guy who runs around the field throwing a stupid ball"

Charlie cringed and narrowed his eyes at him. He wanted to correct him and say that it was a basketball court and not a field, but he decided against it.

Acting unfazed, Charlie reached up to pat his cheek and raised a quizzical brow when Jason's breath hitched, his blue eyes wide. Charlie grinned, "As much as I'd love to chat all day, I happen to have class, so ta-ta"

He heard Liam chuckle behind him as he walked past Jason, making sure to brush his shoulder against his. Man, Jason sure was cute when he was all riled up.

"What was that about?", Mia asked following him. Charlie shrugged, "I dunno, Jason being Jason, I guess"

She shook her head, "Nah, something's changed", she said, "He has changed"

He huffed out a laugh, "Jason Pierce, changed? In my dreams".

Mia gave him a sly look, "You dream about him?"

"Of course not, pfft- yeah sometimes"

He didn't know why he admitted it, but it was the truth. He mostly dreamt about the good times they had back when they were kids and were practically inseparable. It made him incredibly nostalgic and also sad, knowing they won't have any more moments like that.

Charlie heard Mia mutter something under her breath as they headed into their first class and came face to face with Harley.

Charlie glared at him, "Where the fuck were you?"

He shrugged, "Around"

Charlie scoffed, "Around? Around? Are you serious, yesterday was our game night, remember? You missed it you prick"

Harley glared at him, his hands coming to rest on his hips, mirroring Charlie's expression, "I'm eighteen Charlie, since when do I need your permission to hook up with someone?"

"That's not the point!", he huffed, leaning his ass against the table to get into a more comfortable position, "The point is you didn't tell me, and!" he pointed his finger accusingly at his brother, "You missed game night"

Harley opened his mouth to say something in retort but at the last minute decided against it and instead, he sighed, running a hand through his hair, "I'm sorry okay, I'm sorry I missed game night"

Charlie gave him a crooked grin, "See, that wasn't so hard was it?", and watched as the tension drained from his brother's shoulders and he nodded, giving Charlie a smile.

"So...", Liam drawled from behind him and he turned around to see him waggling his eyebrows at Harley, "What's her name?"

Harley snorted, a small smirk playing on his lips as he looked at Liam, "Oh I dunno", he waved his hand dismissively, though his eyes held a mischievous look, "It wasn't that good of a lay"

Charlie raised his eyebrow as Liam glared at Harley, his arms folded against his chest, "Was it now?"

He sighed, wondering if they were even talking about the same thing anymore. Fucking Liam.

He took his seat, shaking his head as the two of them bickered, this was gonna be a long day.
