Meeting the Family

Context Emilia is now 30 minutes old

Jodys POV

I cannot get over how beautiful she is. After getting us both checked over I was only allowed one person so Sally had to head back home. It was just the 3 of us in the room. Emilia was in my arms.

T: she is so perfect. You did such a good job.

J: it was so painful, well still is painful but the minute I saw her I forgot all of that. She is so perfect

T: and you kept that quiet about the name. When did you decide that

J: quite a while ago but I wanted to wait to tell you. I just know one day I will marry you.

He rested his head on mine and played with Emilia's hair

T: she will definitely have my hair colour. I just hope it's nice and straight like yours. She definitely looks more like you

J: we will just have to wait and see.

We didn't have to speak much we just started at her while she looked back at us.

Sam came in to try and see how feeding will go now things have calmed down. She helped me initially and she did struggle to latch on but then she managed it. I felt so much more close to her now. She needed me for food.

Once she finishes I let Tyler hold her and he sat in the chair next to me. I know he will be an amazing Dad and so helpful. The next 2 weeks that he has off will be incredible.

J: right we need to change her into a baby grow. You happy that do that tyler. i am still really sore.

T: oh yes please

I saw his face light up and he brought her over to the bed. I held her while he found the baby grow we chose. It was pretty funny watching him. We'd practiced loads on some dolls but she was moving around and I could tell he did not want to hurt her.

Around 10 minutes later all the poppers were done up and he lifted her up and craddled her. She is just so perfect.

J: we should let our friends know they don't even know I was in labour

T: okay I'll call Mike and ask if she can gather everyone old and new so we can show her off.

J: oh god that will be chaos but okay.

It was arranged for the next day so we should be out of hospital but then. We spend the whole day on the recovery rooms as just the 3 of us then in the evening of her birth we were allowed to go home.

I was a bit nervous about that as what if something went wrong but my midwives are still at the end of a phone if I need anything.

Tyler was driving back home and he was very nervous as a new drive. I sat at the back with her in the car seat. Took a while to get her in there as we were so worried about her arms. The nurses said they are more flexible than you realize.

We finally got back home and Sally and Kamal where there to help us settle in. Tyler bought Emilia in the flat.

We removed her from her car seat and Kamal held her for the first time. I could see he was getting emotional.

T: That's your grandad, Emilia

K: wait really! She can call me grandad!

T: of cause she can

Sally burst into tears of happiness.

S: Tyler I'll make everything up to you and be the best grandma ever. Please if u ever want a baby sitter or even someone to just nip to the shops please call me
