"I hate this." I complain glaring at Steve as we go through old files looking for this so called sceptre or whatever, it'd been a few weeks of research and taking down hydra bases, well I stayed home for those still not fully trusted by the team. "Feel free to leave." Tony adds from across the room. "Feel free to shut up." I reply before resting my head on the table. "What are you doing?" Natasha asks me, "too many words, my brain can't compute." I reply making her laugh I was more of a take action kinda person then a sit and research person.

"Not very surprising that the high school drop out can't read properly." I sit up and look at Tony who was looking through something on his tablet. "How do you know that?"

"I just found shield files on you, there's some very interesting things here Coral."

"Tony cut it out." Steve says as everyone else has now abandoned what they were doing and looking between us, "You can't blame me of being wary of the criminal, I want to know who I let into my home. Ok so..." He stops for a moment and glances up at me before back to the tablet. "You're a princess?" He asks in disbelief rereading his tablet to see if he had made an error.

"If you're a princess what were you doing stealing from me? Also it's not very royal behaviour to be committing crimes is it?" He asks as I roll my eyes, "I'm not a princess."

"Coral-"

"Cora."

"Coral Odair, is the first born child of Queen Amphitrite." He quotes, "if your mother is a queen that makes you a princess."

"Hold on a moment, Queen Amphitrite's oldest child is her daughter Kai." Thor interjects making my brows furrow. "You know them?"

"Yes, She is one of my fathers greatest allies they are very close and we see her as a sort of aunt." He says making me nod with a forced grin on my face, so she was close its everyone except me?

" I often go to battle with her son Aalton, also Kai had a brief romance with my brother Loki. Are you really her daughter?" I sigh and nod. "But why does no one know of you? I have grown up around your mother and she has told me many stores about her children yet I have never heard of you."

"I'm half human so my mother didn't want me, I was abandoned by her when I was born and raised by my father, on earth." I explain making Bruce's brows furrow. "what do you mean on earth."

"I think that it's so great that this is a group discussion now." I say, "Um it says here her mother is a mermaid?"

"So we have a god and a mermaid, cool show us your tail coral." Tony teases making my eyes narrow. "Oh wait no it says you're a siren." Almost immediately Thor's eyes widen and he summons his hammer before storming towards me. Steve quickly shields me as my own eyes widen.

"Move Steve." Thor says in a low tone his hands clutching his hammer tightly. "Woah Thor relax." He says holding his hand out as Thor glares at me. "Remove your spell from him sea wretch."

"I didn't put any spell on him."

"She is a beast, one of the most wretched of the seas, they cheat and they lie and prey on innocent men before feasting on their flesh."

"I don't do that!"

"It says here you murdered your boyfriend when you were seventeen? You really started your life of crime early didn't you?" Tony says suddenly, making Thor's glare deepen. "That's not fair that needs context."

"That's enough." Steve says pulling the tablet from him.

"Stop snooping, Cora's past is non of our business. And regardless of whatever she did, she's here now to help and she's apart of this team to make up for whatever."

"And Thor calm down, she is not a beast, she does not eat people and she does not have me under a spell."

"Siren magic is strong, you would not even know if she had you under her spell." I feel a pit in my stomach, I didn't use my powers on Steve but what if he didn't believe me.

"She did tell us that she could've used her powers on us without us ever knowing." Natasha adds as Steve turns to look at me. "I trust her." He says surely making me smile slightly whilst also getting this weird feeling in my chest.

"It doesn't matter if you guys don't trust her because I do. Cora hasn't used her powers on me and if she was really as bad as you say she could've used her powers on any of you at any moment but she didn't so cut her some slack."

Everyone stays silent and so Steve nods, "ok now can we get back to the task at hand?" They all nod and go back to searching through information but I could feel their many wary glances in my direction.

"Where are you going?" Steve asks after I stand, "I'm going to do my own research, it's too suffocating in here."

"Where is the sceptre?" I'd broken into one of the hydra bases and decided to get answers my way. "I don't know what you-" I break the guys hand, "don't lie to me." Ok so maybe I had some anger in my system and I was taking it out on this guy but it's ok because he was hardly innocent anyways.

"I gave you a chance and I asked you nicely, where is the sceptre."

"I do not know where it is but I know who has it."

"And who has it?" I sigh and roll my eyes.

"Who has it?" He struggles against my command before he suddenly drops in my arms. He whispers something that I can't make out weakly, as he foams at the mouth. These people were crazy.

I push his body to the side and sit at his computer trying to find any information I could. I go into emails and type in the sceptre grinning when emails came up with a man named Strucker. I skim through them quickly confirming the fact that he had it and was conducting human experiments I don't pry too much into that because it says there were no survivors of these so called experiments.

"You have been gone for days." Steve says once I re enter the tower. "I'm back now." I shrug as he gives me his signature disappointed look. "Cora."

"Oh Hannibal is back, kill anyone whist you were away? Eat any pirates?" Tony asks making me scoff, "very funny. I found out who has the sceptre, it's with a man named Baron Wolfgang von Strucker."

"Where?"

"I don't know but it shouldn't be too hard to find him."
