"TINE, YOU ARE ENGAGED? TO YOUR BOSS'S DAUGHTER? Is that why you didn't want me near your office at all?" It was Sarawat who yelled at me this and I had no idea how to answer him.

Tine's POV

"No Wat.. I—Actually..."

Before I could even find some words in me, Sarawat had already snapped.

"It was good to see you Love, but I really need to go.." That's all he said, before storming out of the store, angrily.

So, I did the only thing I could do in the moment. I followed him. "No, Sarawat wait..."

I could hear Love and Phukong saying something behind my back, but I didn't bother stopping — I needed to talk to Sarawat. He had finally made his way back to me, I wasn't going to lose him now.

Sarawat walking really fast on the rather crowded road. As I finally caught up to him and pulled his hand. "Wat, wait a second. At least listen to me.."

Sarawat snapped his hand away. "What is there to talk Tine? You are engaged to someone else, which you casually forgot to mention to me.. and now everything makes sense."

Sarawat tried to walk away again, but I don't let go of him. I wasn't planning to let go of him this time. I held on to his wrist tightly.

"What makes sense to you, huh Wat?"

"Let me go Tine."

"No absolutely not. I am not letting go of you Wat. You can't just hear random shit people say about me and overreact like this. I don't care what Love said at the store, you should have at least asked me for an explanation instead of just storming out."

"I don't want any explanation from you Tine. I am over it. I am over us. All you ever do is break my heart, so what is an explanation really going to do? Does your fiancé even know you have been spending your nights with some other guy?"

"Wat.. what the hell are you even talking about? You—you know me more than anyone else in the world. Do you really think I am the kind of person who would cheat on someone? Do you really think I am capable of going behind your back and getting engaged to someone else?" I sighed and looked down on the floor, still holding on to Sarawat's wrist. "Ever since I saw you Wat, I have only ever seen you. There has never, ever been anyone else in my life.

You know that, right? I know I don't say it enough but I love you Wat, I really, really love you. There are not enough words in this world to tell you how much I love you."

Sarawat shook his head in anger. "If you love me so much Tine, why do you keep hurting me like this?"

"Because I am an idiot who took a long time to realise what was really important in his life. I know I have hurt you in the past, I have hurt you a lot. But I promise you I will never ever break your heart again, Wat. I will live the rest of my life trying to make things right for you, trying to do right by you.

And just so I am clear here — I am not engaged to anyone." That's when I realised there were a few people staring at us. I was so lost in Sarawat's eyes, I hadn't realised, we were having an actual confrontation in the street. So, I pulled Sarawat into the small alleyway, near the crowded street. I was backed up against the wall and Sarawat staring right at me. "Do you see me wearing any engagement ring, Wat? Fuck, have you ever seen me wearing any ring? Wat, the only thing I wear is the guitar pick bracelet that you gave me in college, and I have still kept it with me because of you Wat.. I missed you every day that you weren't with me and it reminded me of you."

Sarawat looked away from me. "But you are not wearing it now, are you? You take it off everytime you have to go to the office, and now I know why. You have been hiding me, Tine. Isn't that why you got angry at me when I showed up at your office today?"
