A year later

Blaze's POV

I yawn for what feels like the hundredth time tonight as I glance around the room at the expensive suits and Botox filled faces. Industry parties are so boring and usually I would skip them, but this one is important. Billie finally announced she was starting her own label and it was just in time because my contract is officially up with Interscope. She plans to sign me which is a pretty big deal and this party is to celebrate. There are so many people here just wanting to rub elbows with the right person and get in good with Billie. It's smart on their part because she has a lot of pull and influence in the music industry. I have no doubt that she's about to take my career to the next level. It seems she wasn't necessarily lying almost two years ago when she said I would surpass her.

I decide to distract myself with food and walk over to the catering table noticing a girl picking up random things. Her smooth golden skin is on full display in a curve hugging black dress that stops at her knees. She's in good shape, her toned body adorned by a sexy spine tattoo and a quarter sleeve one on her left forearm. Her hair is pulled back into a low bun, allowing her banging body to garner all the attention.

Her head turns slightly when the person next to her says something and my mouth falls open

Her head turns slightly when the person next to her says something and my mouth falls open. It's Mya, but not the one I remember. It's only been a year, but she looks older, more mature. Her full lips are painted red, her smile just as pretty as I remember. The person walks away and she turns towards the table again, removing her face from my view.

I should say something to her, but I'm nervous. What if she doesn't want to see me? I mean she didn't even bother letting me know she's back. She had to know she would run into me here though. This party is partially for me.

Adjusting my suit jacket, I decide to push away my nerves and slowly walk up behind her. "So, is there any caviar over here?" I ask in reference to the first night we met.

"I thought you hated it," she responds playfully

"I thought you hated it," she responds playfully. She turns around nearly taking my breath away with how high the slit is on her dress. "Hi Blaze."
