I know that kiss was her last goodbye. As the portal sucks me in, I scream out her name and when I tumble into the Harbingers throne back in hell, I get up and I catch him huffing as Meena starts yelling at him.
“I just stitched your arm and you just opened the stitches again!” he glares at her and nods at me.
“Ioannis. I’m sorry about-”
“You left her there!” I shout at him and he stands taller.
“She told me to get you out of there. That was her last wish-”
“You let her die by his hand!” I yell, finally crumpling to the ground, the sob choking me. Meena wraps me in a hug as I cry bitterly, thinking about her lips, about her smile, about that dark ebony hair and it instantly reminds me of Estella when her lips were on mine.
Soft and innocent. Rough and passionate. Two pairs of lips that are now silenced and I cry and she holds me there, Lucas sighs whistling loudly and summoning someone. When Magelion pops up along with three other people, I spot Eris among the crowd and she throws a ball of violet fire at him.
“You bloody bastard! You let my sister die!!” she sobs, her claws slashing at him as he wrestled with her and when she crumples to the ground, sobbing… I confirm what I saw earlier. Skylar was dead. Magelion looks at me and he wraps me and Meena in a hug.
“I-’m so sorry that you two are stuck in these affairs that don’t pertain to any of you and-”
“No, that’s where you’re wrong. I don’t know who you are, but this is our war just as much as yours. Maia is our friend and we will fight for her. Just like I fought with Skylar. They are my friends,” Meena sniffles and she stands tall, facing off Magelion and he smiles softly at her.
“I appreciate your dedication, Meena Kostas… but this is bigger than what you imagined. We need to get the fan and the blue stone-”
“I have them.” I tell them and all the gods and Meena stare at me. I take out both of the things that Skylar stuck into my pocket and Eris wraps me in a hug, her claws softly resting on my back.
“You and I share the same grief but you have just saved us as well. Lida betrayed us and Evangeline had lied this entire time. Magelion got Gianna to tip off the location, so we are a step ahead of him. Maia is stuck in a battle with Evangeline, but that will end soon. I can feel it,”
“How do you know?” me and Magelion ask her and she smiles.
“Maia Tolan is a woman full of surprises. I have to trust that Jamie has the rest under control, but for now you will all go to the vault.” She directs to Meena and I and we stare at her. She gets close to Magelion and whispers in his ear. He listens and nods, wrapping her in a hug before she glares at Lucas.
“You know what needs to be done.” he nods listlessly and he disappears without another word. Magelion talks to the other guy who appeared to be a general and he smiles at Eris.
“You’re taking Meena with you and we will take Ioannis,” Meena starts to protest, but she silences her.
“Ioannis. Go with Tristan and Magelion. I trust them with your life than I do with Lucas. We will meet you in Valenze with Maia and the rest,” she says and I stop her.
“Where’s Leo and Z?”
“They’re heading towards Valenze. We don’t have Atalan’s grace with us, since Lida stole it… but they will be there. You need to get there quickly. We don’t know Sanderran’s plans and we must be quick and careful before we’re all doomed,” I nod and she leaves off with Meena. I stare at them and Tristan smiles at us.
“Are we ready for some hiking and to defeat a god?”
RIP Skylar... I'm sorry for those who liked her.
Also... Will Jamie be able to get to Maia on time and what exactly is Eris planning with Meena?
