Dakota and I pull up to Adam's house. I see Kyle's car parked on the street and I sigh. As I unbuckle and get out of the car. "Need me to come in?" Kota asks as I open the door to get out.

Shaking my head, I say, "I think I'll be okay. If not, Adam's in there, and I'm sure Britt is too."

"I'm going to head home," Kota says. "I'm a five-minute drive away if you need me." I nod and get my things out of her car. I lug everything up to Adam's front door. I knock a few times then wait.

Adam answers the door in a white t-shirt and Zelda pajama pants. "Where is he?" I ask.

He points into the living room and says, "On the couch. He's staring straight ahead at the TV, which is playing an infomercial right now because it's almost five in the morning. He looks like he's in shock or something. It's not good, Ry."

I sigh and say, "I'll take care of it. Can you just put this in an extra room or something? Also, if you don't mind, can I stay the night? Kota dropped me off and I don't have a ride home right now."

"Yeah, of course," Adam says, grabbing my bags. He walks upstairs and I walk in. I shut the door. I see Britt in the kitchen. She gives me a small wave and I give her one in return before I head into the living room.

Kyle sits curled in a ball on the couch. He's watching an infomercial on an air fryer. His hair is a mess and he looks like he hasn't slept in days. He's in a Metallica shirt and jeans.

He doesn't look at me as I approach him cautiously. He doesn't even look like he's breathing. That's how still he looks.

I clear my throat and ask, "Kyle?" Finally, he moves. His eyes dart to me and he inhales sharply. He doesn't say anything though. He just stares at me. "Hey. How are ya doing?"

Still no response. I swallow as I stand next to him. Kyle just gives me a side-eye. I sit beside him but not too close.

"Look, Kyle," I begin. "I know you're upset but I just want you to know that I was going to tell you. I was going to tell you yesterday before you left. The way you found out wasn't the way I wanted to tell you and I hate that you think I was going to hide this from you for months. I wasn't. I was still processing the information myself and I needed that time to figure out how to tell you. I only found out two weeks ago."

Kyle blinks at me and says, "You lied to me, straight to my face for two weeks. I should've known that something was up when you ran away without an ounce of pain on your face."

I sigh and say, "I should've told you the other day when we were arguing, but I didn't want to tell you when we were in a fight."

He looks away from me and asks, "Why did you have to lie to me about a broken toe, Rylee? You could've told me and I would've been okay with it. The lying wasn't necessary."

"You lied to me for months, Kyle," I remind him. "Don't get on me for lying for two weeks when I didn't know how to tell you, when to tell you, and I was having trouble digesting the information. Do you know how many times I wanted to tell you? So many times. Then we were at my best friend's wedding and I couldn't ruin her day by telling you." I'm in tears by the time I'm done talking.

Kyle's face softens when he sees me crying. I wrap my arms around myself as I wait for a response from Kyle.

After a moment of silence and a sigh from Kyle, he says, "I'm not happy that you lied to me about it, Rylee. I really wish you told me."

"I'm sorry," I cry. "I'm really sorry." Stupid hormones making me cry harder than I probably would.

He moves closer to me and wraps his arms around my shoulders. I close my eyes and bury my face into his neck. Kyle rests his forehead against the top of my head and I lean into his body.

Both of us are quiet before Kyle asks, "Are you tired? Do you want to go to sleep?"

Fatigue quickly consumes me and I nod. He stands up and picks me up bridal style. Adam says, "The extra bedroom." I lean my head against his shoulder as Kyle walks upstairs.

Kyle lays me on the bed in Adam's extra bedroom and I look up at him. "I'll come check on you in the morning," he tells me.

As he turns to walk away, I reach out and grab his hand. He looks down at our connected hands and I ask, "Can you stay? I've spent the last day thinking I lost you for good and I want you here."

He laughs softly and says, "Yeah. I just need to use the bathroom really quick." I nod and let go of his hand. Kyle walks into the bathroom connected to the bedroom. I watch the door until it opens again.

Kyle crawls into bed and spoons me from behind. I snuggle back into him and close my eyes. He kisses my shoulder and I feel one of his hands rest on my belly. I smile as I fall to sleep.

I'm woken up a few hours later by someone shaking my shoulder. I groan and wave whoever it is off.

"Rylee, baby," Kyle coos. "It's almost noon. It's time to get up."

I pout and say, "I don't wanna. Let me sleep."

Kyle says, "There's food downstairs."

My ears perk up at the mention of food and Kyle laughs. "Better be good food," I say, sitting up and stretching.

My boyfriend looks at me and asks, "Do you know if it's a boy or girl yet?"

Shaking my head, I say, "It's still too early. I'm only about eight weeks along. Would you want to come to my next appointment next month?"

Kyle nods and says, "I'd like to see our baby in person."

A smile forms on my lips and I say, "You said 'our baby'."

"It's our baby," Kyle says. "No matter how mad I am at you because you lied to me."

I look up at him and lean my head up, wanting a kiss. "I'm sorry for lying," I say. "Now, can I have a kiss?"

He playfully rolls his eyes and leans down, kissing me softly. I smile against Kyle's lips before I finally get up out of bed. Kyle wraps an arm around my shoulders and we head downstairs.

Adam, Britt, Roddy, Marina, Bobby, and Dakota all sit downstairs in the living room eating pizza from Pizza Hut.

Kyle looks down at me and asks, "Do they know?"

"Only Adam and Kota do," I admit.

Then Kyle looks at everyone. Roddy says, "What is good, Kyle? You both look very happy today."

My boyfriend then says, "Well I found out that I'm going to be a dad so I'm pretty happy."

Roddy, Marina, Britt, and Bobby all looked shock and Marina looks at me. "Really?" Marina asks.

I smile and nod, saying, "Kyle and I are having a baby."

The room breaks our into applause and I laugh. Kyle kisses the top of my head and the girls all come hug me. I wrap my arms around all three of the girls and say, "Thank you, Kota, for keeping this a little secret until Kyle found out."

Dakota smiles and says, "Anything for you, bestie." All four of us laugh and I eat as much pizza as I can.
