"AND GYM LEADER MILO TAKES THE WIN! WHAT A MATCH!"

The crowd roared with excitement as they cheered for the best match they had seen in weeks. It was a show that never failed to get them on the edge of their seat

Nessa held the Pokeball in her hand as she called back the sixth member of her now-fallen team. A heavy sigh left her lips as she wallowed in the defeat she had just received

So close

Again

The myriad of thoughts that were racing through her mind was suddenly halted by the sound of the battle's aftermath

"That was amazing, Nessa. Really had me on my toes there"

A voice caught her attention, it was her rival's. Milo reached out for a handshake, which she took with an instinctive smile

. . .

The changing room offered a much quieter time, which in turn, led to her thoughts taking over

She had lost her focus again. She let her mind wander too far, the other aspect of her life creeping into her mind and costing her the fight she had been training so hard for

Nessa couldn't even remember what she said to Milo, or why she smiled afterward. All she knew was that the battle was over, with the same result as last time

But before she could go any further, her phone went off. Upon picking it up, she found an alarm, a reminder for the next appointment

Speak of the devil

. . .

"A little to the left. Yeah. There you go!"

The sound of a camera filled the scene before she posed once again in the beautiful black dress that contrasted with the natural background that made for quite a composition

She posed again and again, a second nature to her at this point. Her expression was unreadable, and yet it evoked elegance, happiness, charm

But truth to be told, she wasn't feeling anywhere near as well

As the crew worked in the background, Nessa turned to the breathtaking view of Galar she had

It was something people would kill to see. Such natural beauty...but she wasn't even sparing a glance

Instead, the girl got lost in her mind. The subject that dominated her thoughts was the match she just had with her rival Milo

...were they even rivals? She couldn't recall a single instance of him acknowledging her as such

Whatever, she put all her heart into the fights, but not her mind, and now it was plaguing her with things such as what she could've done to change the outcome, the various tactics she had tried before, changes to the order she sent her Pokemon, and th--

"Nessa?"

The voice caught her attention. She turned around to find the photographer

"I said we're ready to continue. Are you alright?"

Right, the photoshoot

"Yes. Let's continue"

But the man tilted his head

"Are you sure?"

Nessa only gestured with a nod, went ahead and helped create what would easily be the talk of Galar's fashion for a good while

Before she knew it, the shoot was over, and she was once again changing into her normal clothes

Where did the sun go? Did she spend all her day on autopilot with her thoughts
