The most peculiar sound at the Saffron Gym?

It wasn't the people trying their best to hone their already remarkable psychic abilities

Nor was it the myriad of impressive battles that took place within these walls

But rather, it was laughter, more so than that, the gym leader's. Sabrina's

But...how could that be?

No one had ever seen her laugh, let alone smile

No one was around to witness such an event. Maybe that was why it happened in the first place

"That's unheard of"

"I'm telling you, they went like this..."

You were just hanging out on the floor she normally uses for challengers. Currently, you were telling her about some wild Slowpokes and Slowbros you came across doing a very peculiar dance

So you got up and proceeded to imitate what you saw on your way here

"Slow...bro. Slow...bro"

The dumb voice and the moves were already amusing enough for her, but she wasn't expecting her Alakazam and other Pokemon to join you in your silly dance

It overwrote everything in her. The behavior protocols, the way she carried herself, it was all set aside by a simple, but powerful emotion

Suddenly, her laughter took over, easily drowning everything else in the room. Even you froze at the sound of it

You hadn't heard it before, and it was...so charming

When you turned to her, the expression she had just made it all the more heartwarming. It was no wonder your heart began to race at such a rare sight

But of course, it didn't take her long to notice you had stopped moving

Intrigued, she titled her head and looked at you

"What is it?"

You just scratched the back of your head. Her eyes widened ever so slightly as her psychic powers provided an answer

She tensed up ever so slightly at the realization of what she did but even then decided to ask

"It'll sound ridiculous"

Sabrina looked as a slight blush took over your face with a dorky smile. Granted, she was already aware of the effect she has, but she was curious as to whether or not you would be brave enough to say something

She got her answer right away

"Well, it's just..."

You turned to her and gathered the courage to look her in the eye and smiled

"I like your smile. It's lovely"

This time it was she who was caught off guard by the sight of it. Your smile alone was powerful enough to get her heart racing

Despite knowing the answer, hearing you actually say it had an impact she could not have anticipated

Even then, she tried her best to regain her composure. She did so by looking away, with a very obvious blush but still

So she cleared her throat and answered as her usual self

"It's...not often that something manages to get such a reaction from me"

You nodded and looked away yourself, petting the Alakazam as you did

"All the more reason to treasure it, right?"

When you weren't looking, however, Sabrina stared at you, and inevitably, she smiled

It was just natural whenever she was  with you

"Yes...I suppose it is"
