I was debating on making this one since part of the Pokemon charm is making your own team, but for the sake of this book, I'm going to tell you a bit about the types your team has!
Of course, you're free to share your own headcanons!
Marnie: Team Rocket had a preference for Poison-types, and even though you didn't see eye to eye with that, you had a couple of them in the party
May: Considering you want to become a champion yourself, there is no clear type for you, every member in your party is different, to help cover as much ground as possible
Gloria: You gained popularity as a Ghost-type user, and even though your team is composed of ghosts, they all had different sub-types to deal with most scenarios
Serena: Your team is as varied and it gets, you even got a Lucario at some point. Everyone in the team makes up for the other's type weakness
Courtney: Being born in Alola gave you a ton of Pokemon to live with, but you spent a good part of your childhood swimming and enjoying the water. This earned you a few Water pokemon friends that stuck around even when you left the region
Sabrina: Your team has a Pokemon that is a Dark-type, but it's there because you helped raise him, but other than that, your team is normal
Cynthia: Considering your status as an archeologist, is no surprise that you have some rock types and fossils in the team, most of them are gifts!
Nessa: You didn't have a type per se, but you had that hint of mischief that attracted Dark types, so you brought a couple to the team
Bea: As a Psychic specialist, it's quite obvious what you use the most, but they complement each other nicely to ensure victory
