Chapter 23!

"Hello again Alyssa." I hear a familiar voice from the entrance of the hall. Me and Cris arrived around 20 minutes ago to set up. His siblings were already here to help put out the food and the bouncy castles that we have. I was watching the kids play and smile when this particular person came in.

"Maria!" I say spinning and immediately cuddling Cris' mum. She is one of my favourite people. We got to know each other really well when I was in Italy but we haven't seen each other since. She is a big supporter of me and Cris and always tells her son to ask me out but I guess Cris never got the hint.

"How are you today?" She asks me tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. Her other hand softly resting on my cheek, her thumb lightly grazing the makeup covered skin.

"I'm very good thank you, how are you?" I ask giving her a smile as she moves her hands away from my face.

"I am also very good dear. How are things between you and my boy? Last time I saw you, you had recently had an argument." She asked referring the the situation between me and Cris. Although she had no idea how we truly feel for one another, she has always been supportive and had always been their if me and Cris fought in anyway.

"We are good. Everything is going as well as it possibility could be right now. We sorted out that argument almost as soon as it happened and we are actually stronger than ever right now." My smile only grows thinking about me and the man I love. Although it hurts to not be with him, I am grateful to have him in my life.

"Well that's wonderful to hear my dear. I knew you guys would bounce back quickly. You guys are perfect for each other." She smiles and looks me in the eye. A look of care, kindness, warmth and deep admiration flash across her beautiful brown eyes.

"I'm not sure about perfect." I say beginning to walk deeper into the hall and towards Cristiano who is holding Alana and speaking to a woman that I have never seen before.

"You guys are truly meant to be. Not like him and that cow he is speaking to now." I was taken back by her words. I had never heard a mean word come out of this lovely woman's mouth. I didn't think she was capable of it.

"I'm sorry, what?" I ask with a giggle, still in complete shock as to what I had just heard. As if she had just said that.

"That bitch does everything she can to break Cris and any girl up. Her name is Aurora and she claims to have been his best friend since childhood but he has never liked her and never wanted anything to do with her but she doesn't know how to take a hint." She seemed truly frustrated by this girl.

"What do you mean by "does everything she can to break Cris and any girl up"?" A genuine sense of curiosity takes over me. Cris has told me everything about his childhood and all of his friends yet I have never heard of this girl before.

"She flirts and tells stories. Stories that will make it seem like once upon a time they dated and were madly in love. Cris always tells her to shut up but she never listens. She thinks she is better than any girl my boy dates but she is not. Who invited her?!" I could tell that this subject hit close to home because she was so worked up.

"Hey Maria, calm down. You go speak to the kids or speak to someone else, have a catch up or something and I will go over and speak to them ok?" She nodded and began making her way over to someone else. I started to pick up the courage to go over to Cristiano and this random girl who I learnt was named Aurora.

"It's been so long Cris. Why don't you come back to Portugal more often? I miss you and I know you miss me. I know I'm the real reason you came home." Aurora says as I approach. She starts to run her hand up and down his arm and I feel the jealousy boil inside me.
