"Hey when is the next Juventus game?" I ask Cris breaking the comfortable silence. It's 8 am and me and Cris are sat in the kitchen eating cereal. We both fell asleep last night watching films at around 10 ish so we woke up on the couch this morning."Tomorrow night, why?" He asks when he finishes his mouthful.
"No reason, just curious. Does that mean that you have to go into training today?" I say looking up at him through my lashes.
"No im planning on calling up and speaking to the manager to see if I can get the next few days completely off so no game involvements or anything. I don't think I should be playing right now. With everything that's gone on I would be distracted and probably would give the ball away to the opposition and it would lead to a goal." I nod as I take my last mouthful of cereal.
He notices that I'm done and takes my bowl over to the sink and empties out the milk before placing the dirty bowl and spoon in the dishwasher.
"I'm going to get ready" I smile at him and jog up the stairs and go into the guest bedroom. I get out my grey joggers and a clean sports bra and walk into the bathroom. I wash my face and brush my teeth and then get dressed. I tie my hair up and begin my make up.
I decide to only put on some concealer, mascara, highlighter and lipgloss to keep it light and natural but to also make me look better.
As I put away the makeup and brushes I used, I hear voices downstairs. Voices that belonged to the kids greeting their father and a female voice which I do not recognise. I take out the bobble that is in my hair and brush it quickly.
I walk down the stairs and see Alana in Cris' arms and Junior stood next to his dad. The twins must have gone to play. Junior looks up at me when he hears the step creek underneath me. His brown eyes widen and his jaw drops as we make eye contact.
"Hey mate!" I say as I reach the bottom step.
"Alyssa!" He shouts running to hug me. He wraps his small arms around my neck and hugs me tight. I start to get Déjà vu from the first time we met. In the front room and his arms wrapped around me just like they are now and he hugged me so tight. Like he never wanted to let me go. I smile at the thought as we pull away and he has a huge grin on his face.
When I look up, I see a women stood next to Cris. She looks about 50, brown eyes and dark brown hair. She smiled at me and that smile looks so familiar. It was the same smile that belonged to my best friend. I realised in that moment that's this was Cris' mum and immediately smiled at her.
I stood from my crouched position on the floor and she said "Alyssa? The one that my son and grandson never stop talking about?" Her Portuguese accent was thick just like Cristiano's.
"Umm. I think I'm the only Alyssa in their life so I'm going to say yes. Hi, it's lovely to meet you" I say extending my hand.
"Don't be silly, come here love." She pulled me in for a hug "I'm Maria" she smiles as we pull away.
"I hope the kids weren't to much trouble for you." I say turning around and ruffling Juniors hair.
"Oh no. They were amazing."
"That's good to hear." Cris chimed in.
"Alyssa, when did you get here?" Maria asks me as we walk into the kitchen. Cris walked over and placed Alana in her bouncer chair thing that was in the kitchen since she was asleep.
"Yesterday morning. I booked a flight out here as soon as I could after Cris told me" I look over at him and smile.
"Do you work?" She asks unexpectedly.
