Sorry I split this into two parts, cause I didn't realize how long it would be after i came up with the idea. But to be honest I'm just writing this as my flows, there not a huge plot thing that I'm following.
Because it felt short I added Rob's perspective at the end. Also guys he's smitten by Jesse.
Anyways enjoy part two
As they sat down Rob handed Jesse his latte. When he grabbed the warm cup, his stomach let out an audible protest.
"Right. I forgot to eat breakfast." Jesse closed his eyes reprimanding himself.
"Oh yeah, I figured you would so I bought you a blueberry muffin. I hope that's alright." Rob pushed the muffin in front of Jesse.
"That's perfect, thank you so much." Jesse smiled taking hold of the muffin.
"Alright, now we should really get down to business." Rob said, grinning widely.
The table was littered with coffee cups, and plates with tiny crumbs. The sun was already setting, and they'd finally finished reviewing the proposed bill.
"Can I ask you something?" Rob closed the red pen he was holding.
"Sure."
"Why did you propose a controversial bill, like this?"
there was a pause of silence. Jesse looked at his stained palms again. The red really did looked like blood.
"Because for a long time we've only ever done things in a certain way. But the world is big, and people should be introduced to other cultures properly. If we only teach one version of history then we haven't taught it properly. Or at least that's what I believe...there are too many perspectives in the world to think one is the only right. Why can't we teach multiple perspectives, and try to understand each other." Jesse continued to stare at his hands.
When the silence lasted too long, Jesse looked up and was caught by Rob's gaze. "What?"
"I think ..." Rob's eyes scanned Jesse. "Actually, I'll do whatever it takes to help you pass this bill."
"Thank you Mr. Jetten. I too will help your bill pass through."
"I know I'm shooting my shot. But just hear me out."
"What do you mean shooting your shot?" Jesse caught a sliver of fear in Rob's eyes. He almost didn't believe it because a second later it was gone.
"Would you like to have a drink with me?"
Jesse watched Rob's face and saw the confidence he remembered so well from the first day.
"I can't go for a drink tonight...but would you like to have dinner at my place?"
