Hello! I'm back! That took me a fucking century and I apologize. But here we are. Thank you for having the patience for all this time.  Bro I hope this is legible, my brain is so fucking fried rn. Okay Okay, I love you all now go read! Mwah 😘😘😘.

Jesse watched as Adrie replied ever so stoically to Geert.

"Your representative isn't even here!"

Jesse slunk into his seat at the mention of Rob.

Three weeks, three whole weeks, 19 days...okay so maybe it was almost three weeks but still, that's a long time. And the stupid head couldn't even be honest with him. Jesse rubbed his forehead.

"Why so glum, chum?"

Jesse looked up to Barend who sat at his side.

"I'm just— frustrated. Rob should be doing his job, not letting Adrie take all this heat."

"I assure you, he probably has a reason." Barend patted Jesse shoulder.

"Of course he has a reason. I don't doubt that. Rob loves his job and won't sleep if it means getting more work done. That's not what bothers me. What bothers me is his fake smile, and stupid half-truths. Doesn't he trust me?"

"...maybe it's more than just him not trusting you."

"If you say it's to protect me, I will officially stop buying you morning blueberry muffins." Jesse threatened.

"You're right, Rob's being stupid. I'm team Jesse."

"I think you have a problem if you're so easily bribed with blueberry muffins."

"Yeah well you're easily bribed with those chocolate croissants."

"....let's agree to never tell anyone that those are our weakness." Jesse held out his hand for a truce.

Barend shook it with a comical amount of determination and camaraderie.

"How is the lovely Rob?"

"He was happier today like he didn't have anything to worry about."

"So, not the same elephant in the room atmosphere?" Barend raised an eyebrow

"Strangely enough no. But when this is all solved I cannot wait to flick the idiot in the head."

"A very fair response...but how about communication."

"Do not worry Barend, I will be talking to Rob so much he's going to wish I never spoke again." Jesse glared at the microphone stand in front of him.

"Now, now the microphone didn't do anything to you. But Rob did, so why don't we glare at him like that, and not the innocent inanimate object."

About 5 minutes after everyone had come back from lunch break, Rob stood outside the double doors. He pressed his hand against the handle of the left door. He held himself higher, and took a deep breath.

"Right now you look like that character in a movie who's about to have a showdown with their enemy."

"The people in the chamber are not my enemy, Lilianne." Rob turned his head to look at her.

"Okay you keep believing that cupcake." Lilianne walked through the door the right door that was already open. "Also I love you being dramatic, but all the extra effort; and for what?"

Rob watched her leave. I was just trying to have a moment. Jesse's going to kill me. Let me at least have a single moment before I die. He blew out a breathe, and walked through the same door as Lilianne.

Rob had made it a total of ten steps, before Jesse appeared in front of him.

"Hallo Jesse."

Jesse glared back.

"I hope the debates have been going well."

Jesse glared.

"I'll explain everything I promise." Rob dropped his voice down to a whisper.

"I'm going to kill you." Jesse glared.

"I can already feel my soul leaving my body." Rob bit his lip.

"Stupid head." With that Jesse walked away and towards Barend.

"Well that went a lot better than I thought it would. Although I think Jesse just doesn't want all these witnesses for when he murders you." Khadija said from behind Rob.

Without Jesse taking up all his attention, he could feel the presence of all the other politicians.

"You may owe Jesse an apology, but do not forget the others you need to apologize to. Starting with none other than Adrie."

"I know." Rob watched as Adrie stood at her seat. Her eyes glued to Rob in a 'never do this to me again. I hate you.' kind of way.

Rob walked over to Adrie.

"These couple of weeks have killed me."

"I'm really sorry."

"The only good thing that came out of this was Khadija talking to me."

"I'm really sorry."

"Didn't you hear me. I said that was a good thing. Anyways let's just sit and hope everything goes well."

As the debates were about to commence, Rob looked over at Lilianne.

And Jesse looked at Rob looking at Lilianne. You better have a great plan, or I will fuck so much shit up, Rob. And with that Jesse turned to the front, and watched Khadija call the meeting to order.
