You had been staying with Sarah for a few months and they have been the best of your life. You were slowly but surely getting better and although you were still a bit away, you were getting there. You hadn't harmed yourself in months and your scars have fully healed. Whenever the thought crosses your mind, you always think of Sarah. You've been going to therapy recently too and it's helped a lot. Sarah's been so good to you and you're beyond grateful for her and today, you really wanted to show her that.

You'd been planning on asking her to be your girlfriend for quite some time but the nerves alway got to you and you always chickened out. You are really confident in your feelings this time. Over these past few months you've been making your feelings more than obvious and it's clear Sarah feels the same. You really wanted to make things official and today you were going to do just that.

You woke up a bit earlier that usual and quietly stretched your stiff limbs. You carefully slipped out of bed, careful to not wake Sarah as it's become routine for you to sleep in Sarah's bed with her. You creeped to the bathroom to brush your teeth and wash your face then you went and put on a simple but cute outfit. Cooking has always been your pretty strong suit so you decided to cook chocolate crepes. As much as you loved Rosy, you were glad she was spending the weekend at her friends house because you wanted the whole day to be about Sarah. You really wanted her to see how much she meant to you and you wanted today to be special.

After adding the finishing touches to the plates where you'd placed washed raspberries, blueberries and strawberries beside the chocolate crepes, you made your way upstairs to wake Sarah. You went into her room and gently shook her shoulder. "Good morning Sar." You chirped as you placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. She fluttered her eyes as her lips spread into the smile that you adored. "Mornin' y/n" She spoke in her raspy morning voice that you found adorable. "I made us breakfast and today is all about you. After breakfast I'm taking you out to the park, movies and then afterwards we're gonna go see fireworks." At the sound of today's plans, Sarah's smile grew wider. "You're a sweetheart." Sarah giggled as she gave you a kiss and got up from bed.

After Sarah had freshened up a bit and got dressed she joined you at the table downstairs to eat. Her eyes widened at the breakfast you'd prepared for the both of you. "Oh, baby. You didn't have to do all this for me." She sat herself beside you and pecked your nose. "But I wanted to. You deserve it." You don't know why you were so nervous to finally ask Sarah out today as you two were incredibly close already and might as well have been dating. You always had this fear of rejection and even though the chances of that happening today were very unlikely, the possibility was still there.

Today had gone amazing and your heart melted seeing Sarah so happy. She loved the park and the movie. You were now on your way to see fireworks in town. You'd gotten Sarah this beautiful diamond necklace to give to her when you asked her out. You were planning on doing it at the fireworks.

"I love spending time with you." Sarah whispered in your ear as you sat on a blanket in a field of grass awaiting the fireworks. "Me too baby." You said as you reached into your pocket. The fireworks burst in the night sky exploding with beautiful colors. Under the colourful sky Sarah's face glowed and she looked so beautiful. Her grinning face glistening in the perfect lighting and she rest her hand on your thigh. You mustered up all of your courage as you looked her in her cocoa brown eyes, necklace in hand.

"Sarah, you make me so happy and every day I wake up to see your beautiful face, I feel like the luckiest girl on earth. The way I feel about you I've never felt for anyone before. You haven't given up on me like most people in my life have. You've stuck with me through thick and thin. You've helped me in my getting better and you just make me so happy. Sarah, my love, will you be my girlfriend?" You saw tears building up in Sarah's eyes as she started nodding her head rapidly. "I thought you'd never ask." She responded inching towards your face. You put the necklace around her neck and it shined beautifully in the gorgeous lighting of the fireworks. You cupped her cheeks and pulled her in for a kiss. It was so loving and passionate and everything you could've possibly asked for. "Sarah Catharine Paulson, I love you." You said as the two of you cuddled up on top of the blanket and watched the remainder of the fireworks.
