Dahlia carefully made her way outside the castle, stepping as softly as she could on the ground. She would occasionally have to hide behind something, seeing as there were still some students out of bed.

The sky was already dark as she finally stepped on the grassy ground outside. The only thing illuminating the way was the moon. It wasn't a full moon but it still lit enough outside.

Dahlia grabbed her wand from her pocket, lifting up and performing the Lumos incantation. A small light appeared at the tip of her wand as she walked towards the forest.

She felt the cold breeze of the air make her body shiver as she hugged herself, trying to keep warm.

She would occasionally stare back at the castle, scared someone had noticed her absence and came looking for her. But every time there was no one. And every time she felt more terrified.

Of course she had walked these ground alone loads of times, but none were in the dark.

She started getting closer and closer to the forest, her breath hitching with each step she took.

Soon she stood right in front of the trees, looking up at them as she tried to get the courage to go inside.

Dahlia kept wishing someone would show up and stop her from going. But no one did.

So she did what she had to do.

Sucking in a breath, she slowly started to walk inside the forest. Her senses seemed to be more alert. Each small sound made her turn around immediately, scared of what it could be.

The forest was much darker than the grounds. The gigantic trees blocking the moonlight from passing through. Only some small streaks of light were able to pass through the big branches. The light in Dahlia's wand was not enough to light up everything.

She started walking to a path she thought she hadn't gone before. It was much darker than the other ones, but it seemed to be calling on to her.

She felt like a prey inside this dark forest. Not knowing exactly all the creatures that could live there, hidden from the world.

Dahlia stopped walking when she saw something different in the path. The trees weren't as stuck together, leaving an almost circular space. The moon lighting up the place making it possible for Dahlia to see better.

In the middle of the circle stood a flat rock. The moonlight seemed to be hitting it directly.

Slowly, she started walking towards it, holding her wand even tighter than before, scared something might jump out of the trees and attack her.
