"Thank you very much, Monica but i think I see myself out since Alfie is going that way too." She said to her and nods him. She said goodnight to the kids and James and they left. Again next to him..then moment she almost forgot his torturing essence he had to appear just so he'd remind her that. Fanny was laying on her lap comfortably and Alfie started to drive. "So you're no longer a boy band?" She scoffed."We no longer are," he agreed. "We didn't think to end up with a female singer, but she was the best, right," he nodded. "I'm glad ya found good teacher in Monica."
"I had no idea she was your in law." She said. "I didn't realize it until i met your brother."
"How could ya know?" He shrugged. "Only Raymond knows, I have a brother in London."
Giving him a small look she nods. "Well that was our last class anyway. I don't think i can keep up with everything and the piano lessons too."
"How many piano lessons per week ya have, for fuck's sakes?" He turned to see her as he stopped on the lights
"One..why?" She looked at him curiously.
"How's that too much to throw it away?" He couldn't understand, why would she stop.
"I'm not throwing it away." She shrugged and caress Fanny. "Why do you care anyway?"
"I was just curious. Ya made it sound like she forced ya to come everyday for three hours," he shrugged, looking at the road before he started to drive again.
"That's what you said not me." She shakes her head. "I just said that i have a lot to do and i just continue the lessons."
"Whatever suits ya," Alfie only said and continued driving in silence.
Sophie roll her eyes on the response and continue looking outside the window. It was raining already and small lightings draw lines on the sky. Perhaps it would be better if she just returned to Ireland for the rest of the summer. If she didn't had the work she'd already be there already.
He made it in front of her house and looked at sleeping Fanny on her legs. "Let me take this empress," he spoke quietly to not wake up little dog on her lap.
"Sure." Sophie whispers. Carefully she took her on her hands and Alfie lays his own to catch her. Suddenly Sophie felt his hands cupping her own and looked up at him. Like electricity hits up her spine from the touch and watched him a while before she removed her hands. "Thanks for the ride." She said quietly without taking her eyes away. "Goodnight, Alfie." Her voice small and gentle, thankfully didn't crack down from the knob in her throat. Right after she stepped out of the car and run inside her apartment.
She grabbed a door handle and found the building locked. With a desperate whine, she started to search for keys in her purse, realizing, she couldn't find them anywhere. She cursed under her breath and turned to quickly catch Alfie to check, if she didn't drop them in his car. In the moment she turned, she bumped right onto him and remained frozen, looking at him. "Why it has to be like that, Sophie?" He asked, holding her keys on the finger and once she tried to take it, he moved it away and hid it in his palm.
"Like what?" She asked him and wiped out few drops of rain dripping on her face. "Give me the key please." She asked extending her hand.
"Like this… Ya constantly runnin' away," he teased, opening his palm, then hiding it, once she tried to grab it. "Avoiding me. Just because I can't give exactly what ya askin' for. Can't we be at least friends?"
Internally she was fuming that moment but she rather keep her composure. "Sure.." she nods. "Yeah,i mean why not? Let's be friends." She let a out small chuckle. "We can exchange numbers and go out for drinks and food. You'll ask me how was my day and I'll say sister you won't believe what happened!" She shrugged. "We can do that! Right? We can be friends if you want. I just thought you don't want and I'm not running i just found no reason to be around more than necessary."
