"No," he shook head and put down the fork and wiped his mouth. He stood up and went to open to see Hayley there.
"Hey Alfie," she smiled.
"Hello, sweetie. What happened?"
"I know. Listen, didn't I forget my phone here yesterday? I came home in the evening and I couldn't find it anywhere and it's not even in bar," she said and Alfie gestured her to come in.
"Let's take a look, right?"
Sophie heard everything from the kitchen and her face tensed. He forgot to mention that he was here with someone obviously when they talk on the phone. Taking a deep breath and the wine glass from the table she leans on the kitchen door looking at them. "We lost something?" She ask them sipping on the wine.
"Yeh, luv. Phone," Alfie answered, coming to couch to take a look there.
"Hello," girl smiled at Sophie. "I'm Hayley. Sorry to interrupt. I'd call, but.." she snorted at the obvious.
"Ain't 'ere," Alfred said and walked to the piano. He searched through sheets and found it under a pile.
"Yay!" Hayley squeaked and went to take it. "Thank you so much, Alfie. So Saturday?"
"Sure thing, sweetling," he nodded his head.
"Right.." she nods. "And I'm Sophie."
"Nice to meet you," she smiled and kneeled, once Fanny came to greet her. "Hey, baby. I forgot to bring you something. Next time, okay?" she let puppy lick her face with small giggle, then stood up. "Kay, guys, I'm off. Thanks!" She added brightly and left the apartment.
Sophie shot him a glare as she finished her wine and swing around to return back to the kitchen without saying a word. Obviously the girl was familiar with the place and his dog and mostly with him. Only the idea made her blood boil.
Alfie came to the kitchen and took a glass and saw Sophie's frown and furrowed brows. "What's wrong?"
"You had company last night?" She looked up at him and narrow her eyes. "You forgot to mention that.."
"I did, yeh. James came 'ere," he said and sat down to finish his food.
"What about Hannah?" She cocks her brows. Her face already tensed trying to hold everything back. "She didn't stayed? She came up just to say hi and forgot her phone here?"
"Hayley... Hannah is Monica's maid," he corrected her. "She came for sheets and left, yeh. She's the new singer."
"She came and left." She repeats in disbelief shaking her head. "Hannah.. Hayley, whatever." She roll her eyes.
"Listen, luv. What's this attitude?" He asked her shortly.
"What fucking attitude?" She snapped watching him.
"This fuckin' attitude," he calmly pointed out, making himself comfortable on his chair.
"You're weird, Alfie. From one hand you brag of how much you don't like people but i saw you very very comfy with new singer." She scoffed. "Now tell me who's saying bullshits here?"
"She's a great musician. Excellent singer, we have a lots of to talk 'bout, when it comes to music, right," he nodded. "Is that a problem?"
"Why you're even asking me?"
"Cus ya spittin' fire like a dragon, right, and I ain't sure, why..." he shook his head and took a fork again.
"Well next time call Hayley for lunch then.. since you have so much to say and i confuse you." She shakes her head. Understanding that she's behaving out of character filled with insecurity and doubt.
