Chapter 39: Epilogue

This is in fact the final chapter

~February 26th~

Y/n's POV

I was ready to go into labor at anytime. I was walking around the house

"Y/n you scare me when you do that, please rest" Reiner says as he walks over

"I'm pregnant not useless" I say

"Yes but you could go into labor at any moment" he says. I wave my hand as I smile

"Oh it's fine, the first time I was sitting at a table and Connie thought I peed" I sat laughing

"I just feel better knowing you're sitting down" Reiner says

"Hey, hey! When is my little brother coming out?" Marco asks

"It's little sister! It's gonna be a girl!" Zoe says

"Now now" I say as I put a hand on both of their heads

"Please sit down Y/n" Reiner says. Someone knocks on the door. I answer it and see Mikasa and Jean standing there

"You haven't popped yet huh?" Jean says

"Mikasa will be just as blown up as me soon.. don't worry" I say as Jean places a hand on Mikasa's stomach

"I'm 5 months" She says

"Oooh" I say

"Anyway when are you supposed to go into labor?" Jean asks

"I'm not sure, for the past week Dr. Kaiser has been staying here in case I go into labor" I say as I point to Dr. Kaiser

"Just saying... I'm not letting you break my hand again. That's Reiner's job" Jean says

"Relax, Reiner's hand won't break.... probably..." You mutter that last part

"So what brings you here?" I ask

"Well you see... Y/n..." Jean says as he looks down at my pants. I closed my eyes knowing what was going on

"Mommy just peed herself!" Zoe says laughing

"She wasn't potty trained" Marco says

"I believe that is the signal that you are ready for birth" Dr. Kaiser says as my contractions kick in. I groan in pain as Reiner grabs my hand

"Jean, Mikasa could you take the kids to your house?" Reiner asks as I squeeze onto his hand

"Wait what's wrong with mommy?" Marco asks

"I think she's gonna poop out the baby" Zoe says

"That's gross" Marco says as Jean picks them both up

"Have fun!" Jean says as Mikasa closes the door behind her. Dr. Kaiser lays me down at an angle so my upper body was up but lower was not. Tears stream from my face as I grip onto Reiner's hand for dear life. I was in so much pain

You'd think it wouldn't hurt this bad your second time around

"I need you to remain calm and push" Dr. Kaiser says

"Remain calm?! YOU COME HERE AND PUSH THIS BABY OUT! DON'T TELL ME TO BE CALM! YOU'RE THE ONE WHO ISN'T CALM!" I yell as I push.

"Don't yell at the doctor" Reiner says as I continue gripping onto his hand.

~Little Time Skip~

"Almost there" Dr. Kaiser says as I continue pushing. I then heard a baby begin crying.

"It's a girl. Let me cut the umbilical cord and then wash her first" Dr. Kaiser says as he cuts the umbilical cord. He then walks out of the room. I looked like a mess. My eyes were puffy from crying. Tear stains on my cheeks. Sweat covering my whole body. I wanted to do nothing more than sleep

"You did so well Y/n" Reiner says as he kisses my hand.

"I'm tired" I mutter

"I bet" He says laughing

"I'm back and she's all bundled up. Would you like to hold her?" Dr. Kaiser asks. I nod and he hands her to me. She looked adorable. I smiled at her. She had S/c, Hazel eyes, and Reiner's nose.

"She's perfect.." I mutter as Dr. Kaiser begins cleaning me up. Reiner stares at the two of us. I make eye contact with him and he looks away. I sigh and smile

"Do you wanna hold her?" I ask. He looks at me with wide eyes

"Can I? I mean, what if I hurt her?" He says worriedly.

"Come here" I say. He walks over. I hand him the baby.

"Look at her" I say. Tears stream down his face as he smiles

"She's perfect.." He says

"What's a good name?" I ask

"How about Carla?" He asks. I shake my head

"No, that's sappy. What about Lyra?" I ask

"I think Lyra fits her perfectly" Reiner says

~6 years Later~

"And so that's my life story" I say to the kids looking up at me like I saved the world.

"Yeah you should've seen her in action, it was so cool" A 13 year old Marco says

"Oh yeah it was so cool" Zoe says

"I didn't know you could do that" A 6 year old Lyra says

"My daddy says Reiner is an idiot" A 6 year old Michael says
(Jean and Mikasa's son)

"Well your daddy looks like a horse" A 5 year old Amaya says
(Armin and Annie's daughter)

"Oh yeah well jokes on you, both of my parents are idiots" A 5 year old Sasha says laughing
(Connie and JJ's daughter)

"The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree" A 5 year old Danny(Devito) says
(Bertholdt and Garnet's son)

"Hey what are you implying? You're the tree here you giant!" Sasha says

"You're dumb" Danny says

"You think you're so cool just because you're tall huh?" Amaya says

"I'm not tall you're just short" Danny says. Michael tackles him

"Not so tall are ya now?" Michael asks laughing. Everyone begins laughing.

"Kids they grow up so fast" Marco says

"Definitely, soon they'll be leaving the nest" Zoe says with tears in her eyes. I roll my eyes at her dramaticness. I feel a hand on my shoulder. I look straight up to see Reiner looking down at me

"So many of them" He mutters

"Babysitting is rough but it's my turn today" I say as I stand up from my chair

"Can't we just get Gabi and Falco to watch them?" He asks

"No they're out of town" I say

"Ugh" He groans. I lightly punch his arm

"You're not the one watching them you teddy bear" I say laughing

"See look even Y/n thinks he's an idiot" Michael says

"My daddy is not an idiot" Lyra says

"Yes he is!" Michael says

"No he isn't!" Lyra says

"I think they're both idiots" I say

"WHA- HEY! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE ON MY SIDE!" Michael and Lyra yell at the same time

"Annoying" Amaya mutters

"Just like her mom" Zoe mutters

"Don't worry this will be you someday" I say laughing

"Yeah, okay" She says with a smile
