Chapter 4

Emma sits at the table in the kitchen circling her spoon around in her cereal, she groans annoyed at herself for getting another nightmare last night

It took forever for Leo to get back to sleep because she was so paranoid to have the nightmare again

She looks down at the spoon sitting in her milk, she frowns angrily and throws the spoon against the wall, just as it hits the wall Raph walks in the kitchen it barely missing his face

"Aye! Watch it squirt! That almost hit my face!" Raph barks looking at her annoyed, Emma groans putting her head in her arms. Raph softens his face a little sitting beside her "Aye. You good pipsqueak? What's the problem?"

"It's ... it's nothing." Emma lifts up her head looking away

"Ya suck at lying ya know that?" Raph narrows his eyes he picks her up and lays her on top of the table making her look him directly in the face

"Spill."

Emma sighs deeply and looks down twiddling her thumbs

"I'm just mad at myself that I had that dream, I'm scared that Shredder's gonna come back and take me away and I'll never see you guys again." Emma looks down at her feet, tears rolling down her face.

Raph sits there listening, sure he was the toughest on her but she still a kid.

Not just a kid

A kid that went though years of torture at the hands of the scientists and Shredder

"Hey no more crying." Raph lifts up her face making her look at him "You ain't got nothing to be scared of, I will get ripped out my shell before I let me lay one finger on you." Raph gives her small smile, Emma smiles sweetly as she hugs his neck

"Ya feel better?" Raph asked

"A little yeah." Emma sniffles wiping her nose on his giant forearm

"Hey don't wipe your crybaby boogers on me!" Raph lifts her up in front of him with an 'angry' look on his face "Ya know what you get now?"

"W-What?" Emma looked a little scared

"A visit from Mister Noggie!" Raph pulls her in close to his chest and noggies her with his giant knuckle. "Hahahahah! stop!! Uncle! Uncle!!" Emma giggles trying to get loose.

"Well you guys look like you're having fun."

The two look up to see April leaning in the doorway with a smirk on her face

"Somebody was being all down in the dumps but we fixed it." Raph smirks looking down at Emma who giggles joyfully

"Glad to see your feeling better Emma." April smiles happily "Come on we better hurry if we cram in a girl's day out."

Raph let's go of Emma as she runs up to April taking her hand, she turns and ways at him leaving the room. Raph gives her a nod but slowly gets a concern look on his face as he watched his baby sister go out the door

Emma happily holds April's hand as they two walk down the sidewalk of the city, Emma noticed a homeless man leaning against the wall with a look of sadness and hunger on his face. Emma looks down at the boxed up pizza that she had saved when the two to lunch.

Emma let's go of April who looks confused on why, Emma walks up to the man and hands him the box of food "Here you go Mister."

The man slowly takes the box his eyes look down at the box and softens his face as if he were going to cry any moment "Thank you so much baby god bless you."
