Hanging out with your friends was always the highlight of your long work week. You and your friends got together every Friday after work at the bar below your apartment complex, it was a ritual at this point. There was only one problem in your otherwise perfect friend group; Weather Report.

His real name was unknown to you since he always insisted on using his little nickname, which was just annoying. Despite his odd name, he seemed to always undermine you, acting superior and overall cocky. When you brought it up with Anasui, the one who invited him into the group, he always brushes it off as 'that's just weather being weather'.

Sure, he was an ass towards you and no one else, but you weren't about to let that ruin your plans. You arrive to the bar early and claim your table before waiting for the rest of your friends. As you watch the tv, you hear the bell on the door ring and glance over. Your heart immediately sinks at the sight of Weather walking through the door and locking eyes with you.

Your fear turns to relief when you notice Anasui right behind him. The two of them stroll over to the table and Weather sits while Anasui exchanges greetings with you. The two of you talk while Weather keeps his attention on the tv, obviously trying to ignore your existence.

"So where is everyone else?" You ask.

Anasui perks up "oh yeah, they should be here by now" he stands up and pulls out his phone, no doubt to call Jolyne.

With him gone, you look at Weather "so, how are things with you?" You only wanted to be cordial.

He rolls his eyes and sighs before turning to face you "I'm fine." He states bluntly before turning back to the tv.

"Well soorryy" you say sarcastically before playing around on your phone.

You only look up again when you hear Anasuis voice "hey I have to go, Jolyne and the others were on their way here when they got into a wreck"

He was about to just leave but you made sure to get more information out of him "whoa whoa, is she okay? Is everyone okay? What happened?"

"They're fine, just shooken up a bit. Evidently a tractor trailer side swiped them then lost control and flipped, causing the whole bridge to shut down"

You gasped and Anasui made his leave, practically running out of the bar without another word. Once he was out of sight Weather perked up.

"WAIT-" he screamed out before realizing he was gone "goddamnit, he was my fucking ride"

You almost felt bad for him "want me to order an Uber or something?"

He glances over towards you "I can do it myself" he takes out his phone.

After a moment he slams down his phone.

"Jesus, what are you doing?" You ask annoyed.

"Because of the crash, there are no available rides"

You felt even worse now, if you had a car you would drive him but your car was in the shop for maintenance. You hated the idea but figure to be nice, you'd at least ask.
