Got some great suggestions on my instagram for stories but I've decided to use Ermes for my short holiday story, enjoy! Also happy Holidays!❤️
"It sure is getting cold, you starting a fire?" Your wife asks as she sits on the couch behind you.
"Trying at least" you mumble under your breath.
She laughs a bit watching you struggle with the fireplace "why do you always have the hardest time with this thing?"
She hops down from her seat, scooting next to you "move over" she states playfully.
Of course without any effort, Ermes successfully gets the fire going.
"I could've gotten it if you would have given me another minute" you grumble.
She pulls you close "try 30"
You roll your eyes as she kisses your cheek.
"Ready for bed?" She stand up, offering you a hand "we got a long trip tomorrow"
"Yeah" you stretch out your hand, allowing her to help you up.
The two of you share one more kiss before heading to bed.
The next morning you awake to Ermes shaking you.
"Babe" she whispers somewhat frantic.
"What?" You ask groggily as you rub your eyes.
"We're snowed in"
Your eyes suddenly burst open "what?"
You hop out of bed with your wife close by, running to the window.
"Oh no no no, shit.." you let out a sigh.
The entire area around you was covered in feet of fresh snow. You watched Ermes turn on the tv, roads were closing left and right.
You run your fingers through your hair "I guess I'll call my mom and tell her we can't come"
"Im sorry baby" Ermes says with an apologetic expression.
You grab your phone and head to the kitchen.
"Hey mom...no, we are snowed in....I know...love you too" you knew she'd be understanding but it still hurt that you couldn't see them.
You scroll through your phone for a little bit before hearing soft shuffling in the living room. You turn the corner to see your wife dragging mountains of pillows and blankets to the floor.
You cock your head "what on earth are you doing?" You let out a small laugh.
She tosses the remaining blankets on the floor before turning to you with a huge smile "I figured since were stuck inside, we could cuddle by the fire"
Her goofy smile and childish behavior made your heart melt.
You walk over to her, wrapping your arms around her waist "thank you baby"
She strokes your hair "I know you're upset, but we can still have a nice Christmas, just the two of us, and I promise we will visit your parents soon"
She kisses the top of your head and you look up, pressing your lips to hers.
You spend the rest of the day cuddling under your pile of blankets, drowning in each other's love.
