Wanted to start this book of one shots with Jolyne since the Stone ocean anime was finally announced and also my fiancé requested this one🥰

"Come on Jolyne, I swear, you take way too long with your hair sometimes" you dramatically roll your eyes as she stuck her tongue out at you.

Jolyne Cujoh, your best friend for as long as you could remember and the target of your newfound affection. Even though you didn't want to ruin the friendship, you found ways to be more intimate with her without being overly flirtatious. You would slip a fallen strand of hair behind her ear or wrap your arm around her in a protective manner.

Jolyne would let you get close to her, so close in fact that you were beginning to think she may like you back. Today was the day you decided to test that theory.

With Jolynes hair finally done and looking perfect, the two of you head downstairs where you run into her mom.

"You two headed out?" She asks with a soft smile.

"Yup, and don't wait up, heard this movie was a long one" Jolyne states while grabbing her purse.

"Okay, be safe Jojo" Jolyne nods to her mom before grabbing you by the hand and leading you out the door.

You drove while she sat in the passenger seat dancing to whatever station she could find. It was hard to keep your eyes on the road, she was acting so cute. She caught you staring a few times but she just laughed it off as usual.

Once at the movie theater, you get your tickets and stand in line for the concessions.

"Want anything?" You ask while looking over the menu.

"Hmm" she squints her eyes before making up her mind "how about some popcorn and a slushy?" You smile and nod in agreement.

Jolyne trots with excitement towards the theater, popcorn in hand while you trail behind her, chuckling at her childish behavior. The two of you head up the stairs and claim your seats at the top row, center.

Jolyne puts her feet up on the vacant seat in front of her "ugh I'm so hyped for this movie!"

You laugh "I can tell" you say condescendingly.

She huffs and shovels a handful of popcorn into her mouth. The theater became quiet as the light began to dim and the trailers started up. Even with the action packed movie in front of you, you could barley focus on anything other than Jolyne.

She was beautiful, even in the continuous changing light from the film; it was almost like her eyes were sparkling. You wanted to feel closer to her so you mustered up the courage and wrapped your arm around her shoulders; pulling her in close.

To your surprise, she doesn't pull away, instead snuggles into your chest and intertwines her hand with yours. The reciprocation of your affection gave you butterflies in your stomach.

The two of you stayed that way until the credits rolled and the lights turned back on in the theater. Without saying another word to one another, you walk hand in hand to your car and begin the drive home.

After a long while of silence, you decide to speak up "Jolyne..." her name came out as a whisper.

"Yeah?" She glances over towards you while rubbing her thumb against the top of your hand.
