Alessandro's Point of View

Thank God she fell asleep. All the crying and overthinking must have worn her out.

I watched her lay on my bed, shifting constantly as she tried to get comfortable. This was unlike the time a couple days ago when we hung out at her apartment. She was a quiet and peaceful sleeper, largely contrasting to the restless, murmuring form of her current state. Something told me that it would be a long time before she returned to her normal self. Maybe I will help her get back to there. Need my old partner back, what would it hurt to help?

But first, I had to handle something. Something that would be very important – get answers.

I made sure Callie was okay before locking the doors and exiting my second condo. Design-wise, it was similar to the other one but in a more convenient with a hidden-in-plain-sight feel to it. It was closer to work but nobody knew about it. I had even purchased it under one of my aliases, one not covered but the company.

The drive to work only took a couple minutes, given that I drove extra fast to get there. No matter the time it took, I still could not get over the kiss. How could I have done that? Was I slowly going insane?..........Did she like it? No no no, Al, what are you thinking? I was going insane during the short drive.

It was currently close to dark of night when I pulled up to the building. I strode to where I intended to, from the moment, I heard what Callie had went through – the cells where they kept the scumbag I had caught in the parking lot.

Getting there, I took a long look at him. The bullet wound I had given him was wrapped up in bandages. His posture, relaxed given the situation. The things I really want to do to this man... illegal things.

The better of me won, I would not want to risk my job for this lowlife. I had to tread lightly since the boss and I have not ever had an easy relationship. And the thought of leaving Callie in the agency with another partner did not sit well with me.

From the doorway, I looked at him and him matching my stare. This went on for a while, me not shifting my eyes, not even for a moment, just a mixture of stare and glare directly at my target.

"How's the wound treating you?" I enquired, a smile on my face.

Shaking slightly at my tone, he revealed no other sign of emotion, "Could've been worse."

"Want it to be," I asked, ready for anything to go down. The levels of anger and frustration that I wanted to unleash on him begging to take over my being.

"I would rather it not be," he said looking down. I took this as a sign that either he was worn out from what his day pertained or he had clear emotions in his eyes that he did not want me to see.

"Let's cut to it then, shall we?" I asked, rhetorically. "You've had quite a day, haven't you? Staging a robbery and kidnapping a federal agent. What pride you must feel," the sarcasm mixed in with many other emotions coated the words I spat at him. The aftermath's silence drew on, him staring downwards and I searching him with my eyes for any hint.

After a while, he raised his head, "What do you really want?"

"Wasn't I clear when I started?" I said, standing up and began to pace the room. Hovering over him, I whispered as close to him as possible, "I need answers. You break into a highly protected building and steal nothing, kidnap a federal agent and give up her location after a few hours, what was it all for?"

I made my way back in front of him, repeating the question when he refused to answer. Then, he let out a scoff.

"Excuse me?"

It turned into a chuckle, "You really think we would go through all that trouble with no gain?"

I chose to stay quiet, and sat down in front of him, meeting his sinical stare and smile. At times like these, the accused usually give out some important information or details, whether they realize it or not.

"You really think there was not gain in all of this?" He was starting to sound and look like a lunatic with the rambling, repetitive words and laughter he was giving off. "Well, that's just great news for us then, isn't it?" he concluded with dark laughter.

Just then, two knocks came at the door, the common code for agents to come outside when they are with someone in interrogation. With one last look at the guy opposite me, I got up and left.

As I was about to open the door, I heard him, laughter waring down, "Say hi to the beautiful Ms Andino for me." I turned around to look at him, the beginnings of my anger starting to show. "What a gorgeous piece of ass she was," he concluded, laughing hysterically.

I felt myself about to pounce on him but the door had opened quickly and two guys had grabbed me, forcefully dragging me out the room. I only saw red at that point, wanting to pummel something, preferably the unknown, unwanted kidnapper sitting in interrogation.

"Get a grip on yourself, Diakos," my boss said behind me. "There will be a time for this another day."

Unfortunately, I did not register his statements. I was too busy shoving my co-workers off my back and marching to the exit. Exiting the building, I drove around for a while before finally heading back to the house where I had left my partner.
