Alessandro's Point of View

"That's just great," I heard someone say behind me. I turned to see Brent, or whatever his name is coming towards me. "Half the body guards are dead, debris and blood is everywhere and we're an agent down," he said, glaring at me towards the end of his statement.

"It wasn't anyone's fault," said one of the other guards as a few of us made a circle in the middle of the foyer. "They came prepared."

"You sure," Brent said, glaring right at me.

"What's that supposed to mean," I retaliated, meeting his glare.

"I'm just saying if she was my partner-"

"If she was your partner," I scoffed. "She would not dream of becoming a bodyguard with the likes of you. Way below her standards."

"And you're better?" He looked me up and down, surveying I guess. "Fat chance."

By this time, we were in each other's faces, the surrounding guards preparing themselves to separate us if necessary.

"She'll never be with you," he whispered to me.

"And you think you're her type. Ha," I whispered back, threateningly.

"I could say the same about you, Alessandro."

I looked at him, no one besides those that work with me and my family, know my real name. Who is this guy?

Seeing the confusion on my face, he scoffed again, "You don't remember me, do you?" He took a step back.

"Why would I remember you," I said, looking him up and down like he did to me. "You don't look like much to remember anyways."

"Why I outta-" And just as he was saying that, he charged at me, fists first. I had trained many a times to handle myself in these kinds of situations so taking him down was pretty easy, even with the guards attempting to separate us and calm us down.

"What's going on in here?" a voice bellowed.

I turned to see my boss, Mr. Matthias, looking at the ruckus that was the surrounding areas and the situation that we were all in. Adding everything up in my head, from the unsolved case of which I have a pretty good theory to my missing partner, I was drawing a blank at what to report to him if he asks.

"Well Sir-"

"Don't do this to me now, Diakos,' he interrupted me. "Tell me how in a few hours you still have an unsolved murder investigation and your partner gets abducted."

"Mr. Matthias, I-I-" I stutter, not knowing where to start.

He tilted his head to hear me better, then saying with a condescending undertone, "Hmm. What's That?" He took a few steps away from me, observing the scene, "This is not good, Diakos. Not good at all."

"Sir, listen. This is all a huge setback within the operation." By this time, I really did not know what to say or do. A hoard of emotions piled onto me at the same time like an avalanche of snow coming down as a consequence of the slightest of sounds.

"And that's the word you would like to describe it as?"

"Sir-"

He looked to a figure behind me, "Nyx, set up a meeting at the office. 2pm sharp. Gather all of our free agents."

I turned to see Nyx there, her usual self presented before me. Writing down in a pad the information she was given, she managed to give me a subtle wink. Surprisingly, that did not stir its usual affect on me.

It was still early morning. I had a couple hours to figure out what was going on before the shit storm hit and destroyed everything I had worked so hard to achieve. Before I knew it, I was back on the porch, the same one where Callie and I were together before hell broke loose.

"Hey," a soft voice said behind me, before a hand touched my back.

"Hey," I replied back, seeing Nyx as she came to stand next to me, looking out.

"You seem down. What's up?"

"With the shitty day that I've been having, being down is a grave understatement," I said, rubbing my hands together. I needed to think, and ironically, Nyx or any other woman was not the answer to my current problem, Callie was.

"Well, we could find a room in this place and solve that," she flirted, rubbing her hand on my chest.

"Not the time, Nyx."

"Oh, come on," she insisted in the same tone. "You know what I can do for you." She then placed her head on my shoulder, this making me feel uncomfortable all of a sudden. This wasn't the feeling you were getting the last time you saw her.

"Nyx, get your hands off me," I said a bit harshly, shoving her arms off of me and leaning onto the wooden banister. I did not know why I was so angry. All these mixed emotions, confusion the most prominent at that moment. Why was my body rejecting her? Wasn't this how I usually dealt with all my extreme emotions, get laid or drunk? What was wrong with me?

She scoffed. She took a step back, saying with a lot of jealousy in her tone, "Is this because that bitch is gone?"

"Watch your tongue when you speak about my partner," I retaliated, suddenly getting really angry.

"Why?" she smirked. "You gonna do something?"

"Yeah," I turned to face her. Getting really close to her, looking deep into her eyes, I spoke lowly, "And we'll both regret it."

She laughed a bit, putting the strands of hair that came out of her bun behind her ear, "You weren't thinking of her when you were with me."

"Maybe I should have been." Really, then maybe she would not have been getting all comfy with what's-his-face and she would not be missing at the moment. The regret I could hear in my thoughts was clear, having my mind conjure situations and spreading negativity.

Looking back at her, I saw shock written all over her facial features. "I don't now what your deal is but we can work this out later," she spoke calmly.

"Work what out?"

"Our relationship, duh." Was I missing something?

"Nyx," I started, not wanting to add another scene to the growing list of what I had to deal with today. "We are not in a relationship. It was just a fling. A rendez-vous, if you will, that went on longer than it should have. You and I both knew this before we started."

"You inconsiderate, selfish-" I walked back inside before she could finish, not wanting to hear the rest.

As I walked towards the crime scene, I got a message from Callie's cell phone:

CALS: St. John's Gardens. 2pm. Don't be late if you want to see your partner alive again.

A picture quickly followed the message, a female body with a bag over the head showed. Knowing it was Callie, I replied, "Be there."

I began to take action. I got one of the service weapons that was laying around in the hallway and a couple of smaller weaponry. Turning off my cellphone, I got into my car and sped off to the destination. No matter what it takes it's time to get my partner back.
