Sometime in the Future/No POV
"Ok Bonnie, don't hold back. You ready?" Ash looked towards the young trainer.
"Of course." She nodded back in determination.
"Good. LETS GO!"
Present Day/Ash POV
It's strange. Waking up one day and not remembering nothing or no one. However I know who my Pokemon are. I don't know when I met them, caught them, or what major battles we fought together in. But I can feel the bond I've built with them all. All of these people, they tell me that I've known them all for a long time, but it hurts to not remember. And there's Serena. She's the only one that I have a connection with that's different. Whenever I think about her I feel warm and the words pop up in my head. 'By my life'. I have no idea what they mean, but I can feel a large amount of importance behind them.
"Hey Ash it's time to go." I looked up and Serne was gesturing for me to stand up.
"Oh yeah ok."
"You alright you seemed in deep thought for a second."
"I was just thinking to myself, why would you give up being the top performer of Kalos just to accompany me?"
"I told you I was the Kalos Queen, but I gave it up because there's something more important to me."
"So what is it you want me to remember?"
"What do you mean?" She replied in a shy tone.
"Look, from what my friends told me when we left, being Kalos Queen was your dream." I turned back to look at her. "But I do know one thing about myself. And so I'm asking you. Don't give up your dream to come with me."
A smile crept it's way to her face and I couldn't help but get lost in that smile.
"It was my choice ok. You'll see what I mean one day, now let's go towards Mt. Coronet. By the way, why do you want to start there?"
"Well the gods of space, time, and the distortion world appear there. I figured if anyone could help us it would be them."
"And how do you know this?"
"I don't know, I have a feeling in my gut, so that's where I'm going to go." We trailed through the inside of the mountain. Every turn I took, every trailed we followed. I was certain of where I was going even though I had no memory of walking down these halls. After about an hour of climbing we finally reached the place I was looking for.
"What is this place?."
"Wait for me here." I started to walk forward but she grabbed onto my arm.
"No I'm going with you." I was about to protest, but I could see the determination in her eyes, I knew she wasn't going to take no for an answer.
"Alright but stay behind me." I led Serena in between the pillars. As I looked at each one, it felt as if each one was calling out to me, wanting to tell me it's own story. I walked over to the first pillar and it couldn't help but reach over to touch it.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you " This voice snapped me out of my trance and I looked around to see where the voice had come from.
"Are you alright.?" Serena said while tugging at my arm.
"Didn't you hear that?"
"No. What's going on?"
"I'm not sure let's go check out that pedestal over there." We walked over and on top sat two orbs. One had many sides and looked to have a rough texture. The other was completely smooth with no sides. A perfect oval.
"I'm assuming you know what those are." I could recognize the voice coming from behind us this time.
"Hey, it's you."
"I didn't know you would figure it out so quickly." J said as he walked up to me. "So do you know what they are?"
"I do but I don't. I've seen these items before but I can't remember where." I walked over to the orbs and touched the rough one. It started to glow a bright blue.
"That is the Adamant Orb, an item linked to Dialga. The God of time."
"What about this one?" Serena asked as she went up and touched the other one which in turn started to glow a light pink.
"That's the Lustrous Orb. That's Palkia's item, the God of Space." I looked at the orbs, but something wasn't right. Why were they here? Why didn't Palkia and Dialga have them? Why was there one missing?
"Where's the other one?"
"I'm afraid, only you know the answer to that question."
"Well you know I don't remember anything."
"Well, then retrace your steps."
"Where do I start?"
"Where it all began."
"Kanto…"
"Let me offer you something. I will help you, come with me and I'll train you to use your Aura, help you master it. What do you say?." I closed my eyes in thought. Was it right to go with him? If it was I felt something holding me back, something telling me that it wasn't the right path to follow.
"Ash." I turned around and looked at Serena, her blue eyes stared into mine and I knew what she wanted. "You should go, he can help you alot. This way you'll get your memories back a lot faster than with me."
Then I figured out. She was holding me back. She was keeping me on the path I needed to follow. I looked up at J and gave him my answer. "Thank you J. But I'm afraid I can't go with you. I really appreciate the offer however I know that there's a better way to do this."
"Well it's your choice. Come back here when you obtain what you are truly looking for. I'll meet you along your journey. Until then, I bid you farewell." He took a small bow and headed towards the exit of the cave.
"Why didn't you go Ash?"
"What?" I asked as I looked at Serena.
"You should've gone with him. Why didn't you?"
"Because, it will all be worth it when I ask you."
"Ask me what?"
"Will you go out with me?"
"WHAT!?"
"Too early?" I said with a small chuckle.
"No, it's not that. Just why me?" At first I was worried that she didn't like me at all, but now I knew she felt what I felt. At least a little bit.
"Well, when I asked you to come with me, I didn't know you were the Kalos Queen. And when I asked you to stay, you refused. Then, you left outside and I could hear you speaking as you went through the door."
"What did you hear…?"
"I don't know. But I'm willing to find out. So?" A smile rose on her lips before slightly nodding in agreement.
"Of course I will Ash." I embraced her slightly and then pulled away. "So where do we start?"
"Home."
