Refocusing
As I am about to sit on my working chair, Rose rushed from the office pantry, and gave me a one good slap on my butt.“Ouch!”
I lost my balance but I managed to hold on to my desk. This evil woman has nothing else to do but to laugh while keeping me standing steady.
“Oops, sorry. I forgot about your sprain. You should try wheelchair, it is fun!”
I just rolled my eyes and giggled. How can I be mad at this creature? She has never left my side whenever I needed someone. I remembered one time I was so drunk at a restaurant once, thinking that dating me would be a good idea. Like a lightning, she came for my rescue and took me home. The vision of the world turning around has never left my memory since.
Rose assists me in sitting on my chair and placing my crutches right beside my desk. While I set up my computer and reports, Rose sat on her chair and rolled it beside me.
“So how’s one week vacation?”
She is giving me that teasing smile but I do not have any clue.
“It was not a vacation.”
Turning my head on the computer, Rose grabs the armrest of my chair and swings it to her direction.
“You haven’t told me anything about your sprain and the date you had yesterday.”
“I was not on a dat-”
Wait, how did she know?
Her teasing eyes start to sparkle and she reached for my shoulders and gave me a bone-wrecking shake.
“You were on a date!”
She squealed like a kettle. Before I even speak out some words, she added.
“James posted in his instagram story about your Sunday lunch date.”
This woman needs to know everything.
“Why not come with me after shift? Let’s have some girls’ night out.”
Her eyes sparkle like diamonds. I let out a soft giggle. This woman is so adorable, how can men not want her?
