Boots clanked against the wooden stairs as John walked down from the patio onto the lush green grass.
Sam put his drink down as he went to stand beside his brother and Castiel subtly side stepped before his mother who was trying to quiet down Marie, to block them from the eldest Winchester's vision.
He caught her eyes, a silent warning and Hester nodded as she got her granddaughter to be quiet and held her closer.
"Nice place," John commented. "Heard you guys were having a little barbeque, pre-Christmas. Was wondering if my invitation got lost in the mail." He said slowly pacing around the yard, everyone's eyes following him.
"What are you doing here?" Dean asked, watching the man who was seemingly looking for something
"I just told you. You always had a problem listening."
"No, I mean here, within 100 miles of me. Last time I checked you told me to get lost and you don't exactly do house calls."
John smirked as he turned back to his sons.
"I think it's time for a little family reunion don't you? And I brought a little surprise of my own."The man whistled and someone with blond hair emerged from the side of the house. Confusion radiated in the air as
the brothers looked at the newcomer."Who the hell is he?" Luci asked from his seat up in a tree.
"Boys," John went to pat their shoulders but his attempt got dodged by both. "Meet your other brother, Adam."
Silence
"The hell did you just say?"
The man, Adam, stepped beside his father. "He just said I'm your br-"
Dean held his finger up to silence him. "Shut the fudge up, I didn't ask you."
Sam ran his hand through this brown locks as a lot of questions popped up into his mind.
"Look, Why wont just go inside and talk, okay? and preferably not create a scene."
Sam's suggestion went ignored, however, as John started snooping again.
"What the hell are you looking for?"
"Where is it?"
"Where is what?"
John turned back to his eldest. "Do you take me for a fool, boy?" He seethed.
Is that a trick question? The alpha thought, barely resisting the urge to roll his eyes.
"The kid, where is it?"
"How do you know about her?" Sam asked puzzled.
"I just want to meet my grandchild, that's all."
Dean looked at his father, defiantly. "No."
A baby babble erupted from the bench under the cherry blossom tree and John's attention diverted there. He barged passed his son and over to the table but Castiel wouldn't let him through.
"You're not touching my daughter."
"Move out of my way feline."
"You're not taking my daughter." The panther growled but stopped when John pointed his gun right between his eyes.
Hester screamed hysterically as she stood with Marie and backed up against the fence. The infant seemed to sense the danger as she started crying her eyes out and everyone else tensed when they stood to face the scene.
John looked towards the weeping woman to see her holding the small wailing infant in her arms.
"The brat really looks like the both of you." He spat.
