Sun rays peaked through the blinds of a certain home in Souix Falls, Iowa as the birds sang lazily outside the windows with the rising sun.

The peace and serenity, is what woke up a certain blue eyed omega out of his peaceful sleep. He rubbed the blurriness out of his eyes, unwrapped the arm slung over his body, yawned as he sat up, leaving the heat and comfort of his bed.

He padded down the stairs, with his dark hair sticking up at odd angles, and into the kitchen. His soft footsteps were heard walking about as he rampaged through the pantry for food. Finally settling on pancakes, he put the pan on the stove and watched the butter sizzle as he mixed the batter.

He apparently didn't sense the other presence in the room as he jumped when two arms snaked around him from behind.

"Hello Dean" He smiled as he felt the other cuddle closer.

A grumbled 'morning' resonated from his shoulder as Dean placed a light kiss into the base of his neck.

"What you making?" He asked, detaching himself from the warm body and hopping on the counter.

"Just pancakes," Cas sighed, turning to face his green eyed mate. "Sorry I couldn't make more. I've just been so tired for the past few days with work and remembering to do things around here and-" He rambled on before being interrupted.

"Cas!" Dean shouted, successfully stopping the other man from ripping his own hair out from stress. "Don't be sorry, okay? You've been stressing over work for the past few weeks and it's time you started taking it easy anyways since the-"

"I know, I know"

"Exactly, so here's what," Dean said hopping off the counter and wrapping his arms around the other's waist. "I'll make us breakfast and you," he said bumping their noses together, "go get some rest."

Castiel smiled as he trailed his hands up the brunet blond's body to wrap around his neck. "Dean,"

He got a hum in reply.

"As much as I want to stay here all day and eat your amazing cooking," he whispered, getting impossible closer, "I have work today and so do you."

Dean groaned exasperatedly as Cas pecked him on the nose and trudged up the stairs to get dressed.

They finished eating their breakfast and were now getting ready to leave.

"Promise me you'll be safe?" Dean asked for what could have been the millionth time now, helping Cas into his trenchcoat.

Castiel turned around to the concerned look on his lover's face and smiled at his over protectiveness.

"I promise I'll be fine" he said patting his chest and walking out the door. Dean followed.

"And you're sure you've got everything."

"Coat, bag, keys and drink." Cas recited as they approached his car.

"And promise to call if anything?"

"I promise." The brunet said as he threw his stuff into the car.

He was suddenly spun around when a pair of lips collided with his. He kissed back and after a few seconds, pulled away to run his eyes over his mate's freckled face.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

With that they both headed off to work, in their own vehicles and in opposite directions.

Unbeknownst to them, someone watching from the bushes.

I'm getting there, hopefully. 😕
Is it fluffy enough?
I'm not famous for writing anything close to romance so I hope it is.

Question:
Do you consider Dean a blonde or a brunet? Or are you like me and put both because you have no idea?

I think it changed over the seasons honestly.

Tell me what you think.
Bye👋
