Somehow we got out of the city, Ariana in my arms and Michael and Marina running in front of me. I could see fire lighting up Florence but i didn't stopped running. At one point we started walking, and we did that for around 1 hour, ot at least that's how it felt like

We all were tired and scared, Ari started to fell asleep in my arms as the night covered the forest around us "I think we should rest" I spoke from behind, Ari adjusting herself in my arms

"Yeah" Michael breathed kneeling down in the river to clean his face, the moonlight reflecting on the pure water as it cascaded down the rocks

"Finally" Marina spoke, placing her hands on her knees and making gag noises, i had no interest on watching her puke so i turned away

"Hey.." i whispered in Ari's ear "Baby girl"

"M' not a baby" She said, refusing to let me go "Is it over?"

"Yeah, nobody will hurt you now" i smiled placing her in the ground, she ran to the water and just sat there playing with it. I looked for Michael who was starting to make a fire in the grass

His face was clean but his clothes were all dirty, his greasy blonde hair messier than usual, and bags under his beautiful green eyes. I kneeled down beside him as the fire started burning

He looked at me deep in the eyes with a hint of sadness on his' "I love you" He spoke, his voice broken

"I love you too" i said, my voice a little crooked

"Promise this won't be the last time i say it" The ember and river sound being the only things that prevented the place to be death silent

"I promise" i didn't know if i could keep that promise but I'd do anything in my power to make it that way. Michael pressed his lips against my cheek, then laying his head on my shoulder and starting to cry

I layed on the grass, pressing Michael onto me as small sobs left his mouth "Just close your eyes, i won't leave you alone" i whispered to him, kissing his head "You'll be safe and sound"

Michael lifted his face and joined our lips, hope filling my insides i hugged the blonde boy closer, loving every part of him, burying my face on the crook of his neck and leaving kisses on his skin, wanting to shrink him and hide him from the world so he'll be ok

"We'll be ok" He whispered and a with that my beautiful prince fell asleep on my arms
