On the drive back home, it hit twelve in the afternoon. I'd probably just freshen up before going to buy groceries to cook some food, I haven't eaten at all yet apart from some snacks we bought at the arcade.
The whole ride back was dead quiet and I was hoping for a little chat which didn't bother to take part. I lay my head onto the seat, staring outside of the window. I always have wondered what life would be like if I were a bird, just think about it; what would be my problems? What would I have to face?
We arrived home after drive which did not consist even a single word. I stared at him, just sitting there in silence hoping a word would escape his lips.
I needed an explanation on that kiss...
Did he like it?
Does he like me? Do I even like him?
When I still failed to hear anything, I harshly pushed open the door finally grabbing Ace's attention. I glanced once more at him before sauntering up the pavement and pulling out my dangling keys from my pocket.
After opening the door, my footsteps made a creaking noise until I stopped and looked at my fridge like it was my love. Which it was, I needed some chocolate. I focused my eyes on any sight of a brown package, hmm... Yes! My one and only, Belgian chocolate!
Smiling, I snatched the pack and skipped up the stairs and into my room. I flopped my body onto the material beneath me, also known as my bed or husband. Obtaining my laptop as I did so, I cracked off a bar from the pack.
As I typed in '9gag.com', I munched a bit off of my bar letting the soothing sweetness of the solid turn liquid. I moaned in delight of the taste while scrolling through hilarious pictures, I even giggled at a few of them considering I wasn't exactly in the best mood.
"Ahem." I heard a voice cough behind me making me snap my head towards the window where Ace sat on his window pane, smirking smugly. "Enjoying yourself?"
I rolled my eyes annoyed that he finally acknowledged my existence, I mean why couldn't he'd have done that when we were in the car? "Oh so now you decide to speak up." I say sarcastically.
"Ha ha. Very funny..." His eyes turn into slits before pointing at my window for me to join him.
I put my hand on my laptop, lowering down the lid before stuffing the remaining piece of chocolate into my mouth while eyeing him curiously. Are we gonna talk about that kiss? 'Cause now that I think of it, I really don't want to... After realising he wouldn't back down, I took several steps 'till my butt was placed onto the board at the window.
"So..." I raised my eyebrows, looking around.
"About that kiss..." Oh great, it's about the kiss. Obviously.
"What about the kiss...?"
"Well... Do you, um, do you–" He sighs before continuing "–maybe l-like me?" He finally managed to pronounce after what seemed like forever.
I was genuinely confused. "I-I don't even know myself but... Why do you ask?"
He took a deep breath then explained, "Because Mary... Because I want to know where we are and- and the truth is... It's that,"
I was really starting to get impatient with all of the stuttering. Though it did make him more cute, the way he was shy about this topic.
"I like you. Like... I really, really like you."
My eyes enlarged and my jaw fell open, Ace likes me?! He likes me? Oh my gosh... I never knew that the most popular dude in school likes me! Wow oh wow!
"Ace..." He looks at me expectantly, "I-I like you too." I send him an adorable smile, resulting in him winking at me playfully.

"Good morning, honey." My mother entered my room with that bright smile of her's. "How are you feeling? Okay to go to school?"
"Yep! I feel amazing." Wow, Ace is like a medicine to my sadness. He has just lit up my world, it's gonna be our first day as a couple. I'm so excited! I don't know how Ashley or Brent will feel about this though. Pshh, Brent doesn't even like me that way. Everything will be fine.

"You guys are what?!" Brent yelled furiously, making me sink deeper into the cafeteria seat.
Well, let me explain... When the bell rang for break, we met at the usual table to discuss something. Then when we finally decided to tell Ella, Luca, Jone and Brent that Ace and I are now a couple, they all awed and cheered for us... Except for Brent. He went all crazy on us, his eyes bulging as he glared at Ace.
What was his problem?
"You guys can't be a couple! Do y-" Brent got cut off by Ace's hand to his mouth.
"Hey! Keep it down! We can't let the whole school know yet!" Ace scowled.
Brent shrugged, his breathing still not calm.
"It's okay, but for now, we have to keep it quiet." I spoke.
As the day went by, my muscles became sore from all of the assessments we've been doing. Next week we'd be taking a few exams and i've been working very hard to hopefully get an A on each of them.
Waiting for the school bus to turn up, I tapped my foot impatiently when someone whispered in my ear. "Can we talk?"
I stared at Brent with a confused face, "About what?"
"About something... I'll take you home afterwards."
Brent walked away with me trailing behind him. Yes, I was confused and yes, I didn't want to go but no, apparently I don't hate him. I placed my butt onto the motorcycle, Brent handed me a helmet before putting his own one on. I was going to ask him where we were going but he already started the engine so I dragged the helmet down so it fit properly.
I squeezed Brent's body underneath my arms, it began to get cold and my teeth chattered nonstop. I breathed out, a visible puff of air appearing.
As I noticed more of the scenery, my heart raced. I don't know why but I felt like I knew this place. It was surrounded by trees and old dusty benches where a giant fountain stood quietly in the centre just doing it's ways.
We were at the park.
But to me, it wasn't just any park... It was the park my father and I always visited, it was the place that we'd always gaze at each other with love and happiness. It was where my father taught me how to ride my bike, and where I fell face first onto the ground. I fought back the threatening tears, swallowing down the big lump that formed in my throat.
