"Wake up. We're here now. I don't need you to start drooling all over my car." A gruff voice woke me up. I slowly peeled my eyelids open, saw the chauffeur, and immediately bolted up, hitting my head on the roof of the car in the process. "Ow, that hurts" i said, rubbing my head in the area that hurt, earning a look of disapproval from him. "Sorry." I muttered, shifting uncomfortably from his dark scrutiny. "Just walk through the school gates, turn right, walk straight down and you reach the school's office." He told, made me get off the car, and drove away.
Standing in front of the school did make me feel tiny right then. The school was ginormous, and as i looked around my surroundings, i saw glass-like towers in a distance. Is that really made of glass? I thought. Then i realized that the people around me were all either wearing gold dresses or white suits. I turned back to the school and walked to the school gate.
When i reached the gate, i wondered, how on earth am i supposed to make it open? Shouldn't someone open it for me or something? Then i saw the sign on the gate. It read, for new students, place your palms on the gates and it will open by itself. I tried it and sure enough, the gates creaked open. Cool. I continued walking through the school while dragging my luggage according to the directions given by the chauffeur. Soon, I found myself staring at a walnut-colored door, which i guess was the school's or principal's office. Should I knocked? I decided that i should, took a deep breath in, exhaled, and then knocked lightly.
"Come in" A female's voice called out. I opened the door and entered the office. the room was cozier than I thought, with some armory hanging on one of the walls. There was a desk directly in front of me and sitting on a swivel chair was a petite female with black hair and did i mentioned that she was very beautiful? "Hi, I'm ms lightwood, but you can call me Izzy, and im the principal of this shadow hunter school." I noticed that she had a whip coiled around her arm, and swirly black tattoos on her arms too. But i was really confused. Wasnt the principal called mrs dean according to the letter? "Wait, then who is mrs dean?" I blurted out.
"Mrs dean is the principal of the school of TRIS" she replied. Seeing confusion written across my face, she sighed deeply and started explaining. "Well, you see, every student who studies at the school of TRIS will first need to be a shadow hunter to be able to be get into that school. Since you are not trained to be a shadow hunter yet, you will need to come here to be trained first for a year to prepare you for the school of TRIS. Most of the students come here for basic training to be a shadow hunter first, so you don't have to worry." "so i will only got to the school of TRIS next year? After i finish training?" I asked. "Yes." "And the campus?" "We have a house beside the campus that is able to house all 30 of you." There's only 30 students? Wow. Then i felt that something was not right. "Wait... How did you know i was a shadow hunter? I may have been an ordinary human for all you know." "Well, the gate opened when you touched it right?" I nodded. "Only a shadow hunter can make that gate open. And also, Mrs Dean had done a background research before on all the new students. You can ask her later on. She is going to give an opening speech later on." "Can i go to the campus first? I need to leave my luggage somewhere." She nodded, opened a cabinet, took out a set of keys, as well as the directions to the house, and handed them to me. "One of the keys will open the main entrance to the house. Your room is 203, which is on the second floor. There is a shortcut connecting this school to the house. Just follow the directions given." "Okay" and with that, i left for the house.A/N
