Gio had fun last night so I'm satisfied. I saw that she really missed her friends. We promised to meet them again soon after our vacation.
"I'm so glad you two are finally here!" Mom excitedly said after she hugged me, after Gio.
"Welcome home, anak." Dad said to Gio as he hugged her.
You like there, hija? or are you still sleepy? Magpahinga na muna kayo. It's still 6 in the morning."
Gio shook her head.
"We'll have our breakfast now, Mom."Mom smiled.
"Alright. Let's proceed to the garden." aniya ngunit bumaling muna sa mga kasambahay para sa bagahe namin ni Gio.I spotted an extra table full of flowers near our breakfast table when we proceeded to the garden.
"Let's eat. Your Dad should be in the building right now. Sinalubong lang kayo nito." Mom said when we settled in our seats.
"Why, Dad? Meeting?" I asked.
"This early?" Tanong ko.
"Yeah. You will take a leave for a week. I need to organize things while you're away."
"I organized it already. I won't leave work if there's an unclear schedule, Dad." I said. Napatingin ako kay Gio dahil alam kong ayaw niya kaming umalis na may naiwan pang trabaho.
"I know, son. It's for my sake, though. I need to be sure while you're away. Don't mind me." Dad said.
I sighed. I looked at Gio again. We exchanged gazes then she nodded. Like she read my mind, she gave me permission.
"While Gio and I are away, I will let Gracia report to me everything. If that's what will make you at ease."
"Hijo, don't. You are in vacation. Busy yourself with that and not with the reports. Have fun with your wife." ani Mom.
"Okay lang po, Mom. Naiintindihan ko po. My husband is the CEO. It's understandable and necessary." ani Gio.
Dad chuckled while Mom only smiled.
"Oh, Colin. You are lucky to have Gio.
"Yeah, I'm lucky."
"What's with the flowers, Mom?"
"Oh, that," then she looked at the flowers. "I wanna plant them here in our garden.
"Mom, maybe I can help." Suhestiyon ni Gio.
I know that she will volunteer.
