The next morning, Gio and I are already settled in our car.

"Mag-ingat kayo! Enjoy your trip!" Mom said while Dad's on his side.

"Opo, Mom." Si Gio.

"Pupunta ba muna kayo sa condo mo, Colin?"

"Yeah, Mom. I'll just get some important things there," I said, then I looked at Dad. "Dad, don't be stressed over the company." I teased.

I already told him there's nothing to worry about but he's too hands on. I also teased him that the reason for his paranoia is because he's already getting old.

He only tapped the roof of the car as if he's getting rid of me that's why I laughed.

"Ikaw talaga. Inaasar mo lagi si Dad. Of course, we will be out of town, he will worry."

I chuckled. "I just want him to relax. I even discussed the current operations of the company. I gave him everything he needed to know."

Umiling siya ngunit nangiti rin.

"But you are really close to them. I envy that."

Nawala ang ngisi sa labi ko.

"My parents are uptight. Especially my Dad," she added. "I never have the chance to tease him like that. And my Mom, we talked. But not like how you and your mother talk."

I sighed and pulled her closer for a hug. I don't know this side of her.

"Our mother, Gio." I corrected.

She didn't speak. I gave her silence too.

"You wanna go with me?" I asked. "Or no? It won't take long. I'll just get–"

"I'll go with you." She said then smiled.

I nodded. "Alright."

We rode the elevator for my floor.

"I'm okay, Colin." aniya ngunit hindi nakatingin.

My relationship with my parents is okay. I just realized we really aren't close. But it's okay. So don't worry."

"I'm not worried because I am here. I am already your family. I just... don't know this side of you."

"I am so happy you have that kind of relationship with your– our parents," Ngumiti ako dahil sa pagtatama ng kanyang sasabihin. "That I can't help but compare."

I nodded. I held her hand. "You will be happier with our relationship. I'm sure of that." I smiled.

She chuckled and kissed my cheek. "I already am."

I smirked.
