We were sitting on the side of the stage as we watched some students dancing for the audition of our school's dance group, Skilartale. Abby was beside me, her body was slouched to her chair and her droopy eyes tell me that she has no interest in this kind of sport. But she doesn't really have a choice since Maica will be auditioning later, and we have to show some bestie support.
"Maica should nail her performance or else I will kill her for dragging us to this," she muttered as she repositioned herself on her chair for the nth time.
"She will, she's a good dancer," I replied.
"Have you seen her dance before?" she asked, her tone was full of curiosity.
I stared at her, "I didn't?" I mused.
"Then why are you saying like 'ShE's a GoOd DaNcEr'," she said, mimicking my voice.
I laughed at her. "I don't know why I said that. I didn't even know she knows how to dance."
"Me too, that bitch has so many secrets and she has no plan in telling us in the future."
We halted chatting when Maica stood up in the stage. "Go Maica! You can do it!" I yelled out from my lungs.
Maica smirked, waving her hands towards our direction. I smiled cheekily and waved at her back.
"That's our friend!" I screamed again.
People surrounding the stage was now staring at us, even the 3 judges in front, have smiled in their faces. I waved at them and they quickly reciprocated my friendly gesture.
Out of the blue, I felt Abby's fingers under my forearm. Pinching my poor skin.
"A-aww. What are you doing?" I asked her dumbfounded.
I rubbed the mark that her nails' left on me.
"Stop screaming, you are catching people's attention," she said sternly, bringing her mouth closer to my ear so no one could hear our conversation.
"I don't care," I replied nonchalantly.
"Well I do." She stared at me lazily.
I rolled my eyes at her and altered my attention back to the stage. "Go Maica! Abby is so proud of---" I have not finished my sentence as Abby's hand snaked around my face, blocking my words that I wanted to spill.
A group of students sitting beside us were giving us a concerned look. "Are you guys okay?" the girl with big round glasses asked.
I tried to speak but the only thing they could hear were my muffled voices.
Abby faked laugh. "Yes, don't mind us. Let's watch and enjoy our friend's performance please." I almost choke in her hands from laughing as she gave them her stiffest smile.
The group sent us one more wary look before they turned their attention back to the stage. Good thing her music started to play, indicating that she will start soon.
Maica moved her body in tune with the beat. I haven't heard of this song before but I can guess that it was sexy. She walked on the right side of the stage and grabbed the monoblock (plastic chair) to the center. She used it as a prop and she started dancing with it. She was twerking her butt rapidly when the music went into a faster pace. Men at our back were whistling when she ended her performance with a wide smile and a bow. Everyone we're clapping, amazed by her talent she showed.
"That's our girl!" I bounced in my seat as I gripped Abby's palms in mine.
"Daaaang! That girl is good and she's hot, bruh." I've heard a guy talked from our back.
