We were standing in the hot blazing field as we wait for our commander to command us.
"Where is he?" I heard someone at the front of the line groaned.
"Guys, look. We are the only platoon left in here. Everyone are doing their tasks already while us, we're stuck in front of the stage," somebody stated. "Maybe, we should go back to our previous spot last week.'
All my co-cadets started to whisper and murmur. It was obviously a bad idea to leave in here especially that no one told us to leave, however, I also understand why some of them wanted to storm away this spot, it was because the sun was already up, and the sun's rays were stinging in our skin even though it was still early in the morning.
"Stand straight, Sir Comamau is approaching!" I've heard someone yelled.
Everybody immediately stood up straightly. Since I was at the back, I don't really have to worry if I don't be snappy like my co-cadets. Instead, I roamed my gaze on the side and I saw our platoon leader walking towards our direction while talking to Gorio. They suddenly halted in front of the stage. It become harder for me to breath when his gaze brushed towards our platoon, he must not be looking straight at me but my knees were turning jelly with his stares. His lips in my straw passed inside my head, I could feel my blood rising up to my cheeks. I coughed and altered my direction to my front. It didn't take 5 minutes before sir Comamau appeared in front of us.
"Knot Tying!!" he yelled.
"Knot tying sir!" we yelled back.
"Information."
"Information sir!" we barked again.
"Sir. Yap told me that this morning, we will not be tackling about knots yet, he decided that we have to pick up cellophanes, plastic bottles or any thing you see that is non-biodegradable around the campus. Please refrain from talking to your friends and do your jobs seriously, am I clear here?" he said, clasping his hands on his back.
"Yes sir!" we replied in unison.
"Move!"
I didn't move immediately, I tiptoed and stretched my neck as long as I can from the humongous heads blocking my view of the stage. When they all passed, my lips turned into a thin line when I didn't see him. He must have left already. I dragged my feet and joined my platoon in walking. I know I can't be sad just because I didn't totally see him but I can't deny the fact that I miss his presence, it seemed like the last 3 months of avoiding him was slowly seeping inside my system. This was rediculous.

"What happened to your faces?" I asked, suppressing my laughs as I hold their chins to look at me.
Maica swatted my hand away.
"I hate ma'am Gonzales, I don't know what was exactly his problem that he let us burnt in the sun while teaching us some useless traffic signs," she complained, she crossed her arms on her chest and slumped on her seat.
"Maica it wasn't traf---"
"I know Gale, you don't have to correct my shit," Maica groaned.
I chucked.
"Okay, anyways what did you do. You look untouchable and... neat," Gale said, checking her white T-shirt that has covered with dust.
"Oh my god," Maica quickly straightened on her seat and grabbed Gale's shoulder to face her. "This bitch did not do anything, they were just roaming around as if they own this shitty school," Maica snarled, making Gale to closed her eyes from her yelling.
"Excuse me? For your information woman, we did the most important thing to do in this world, and that is picking all your garbage you threw. Look, look at my nails, there are soil inside my nails because I am working hard to make this campus clean." I shoved my fingers to their faces so they could see how dirty my hands were.
"I still envy you because you didn't do anything this morning," Maica insisted.
"I did do something and it's very exhausting!"
"Whatever," she said rolling her eyes at me.
"Aren't you guys supposed to study knots?" Gale asked as she re-positioned her eyeglasses on her nose.
"Yes, we will later. Gor---I mean sir Yap, commanded us earlier about picking up trashes so that wasn't our fault if we didn't done much this morning."Gale nodded her head as if she decoded something in my sentence.
"Sir Yap, no wonder," she said looking up at Maica.
"What do you mean?" I asked, intrigued by their mischievous smirk plastered on their faces.
"I think---"
"We think, sir Yap likes you," Maica snapped, making Gale halt mid sentence.
"W-what? Are you insane? Where did you base that conclusion?" My heart was skipping inside my head.
This wasn't the first time they said this but it still worried me because I thought I have eliminated that idea out from their heads.
"Okay, hear us out first before you outrage in your seat," Maica continued.
I spun my head to our surrounding, I was glad that we were seating at a bench under a big mahogany tree and this place felt like ghosty since there were only few people seating on those free benches. We will eat here later after I burn their ridiculous thought again.
"Tell me," I said after I took a big deep breath.
"We think everything that is happening to you here has something to do with sir Yap," she said.
I furrowed.
"Remember when he talked to you on the first day of formation?"
"I've told you, we're just---" I have not completed my sentence when Gale raised her palm at me.
"But! What happened at the mall isn't just an act of friendship unless..." Gale did not finish her sentence and eyed Maica as if they were talking telepathically.
"Unless there is something."
My heart was skipping inside my chest, since when did these girls become investigators? Why am I afraid in the first place? I was not hiding anything from them, I can still act this cool.
"There is nothing," I insisted, placing my palms on the concrete table.
"Hey!" Gale yelled at me. "Stay in your pen, we're not done talking. Please continue," she said and signed Maica to speak.
I gaped at them. What the?
"Our assumption grew stronger when you told us that it was sir Yap, who mandated you to pick up trashes this morning." Maica gave me a smug smile.
"Was that it? Did that information polish your assumption quickly?"
"Yas," they said in a high pitch.
I was starting to get annoy, I think I can endure this if this was only Maica but the fact that they were both teaming up together just to get their point was very exhausting.
"And what made you think, assigning a person to do earthly duties mean he likes you?" I crossed my arms in my chest, intimidating them.
"Girl! Use your common sense, that childhood guy of yours simply doesn't want you get tired, scratched, and be burnt in that blazing field," Maica suddenly stood up, "because-he-likes you-bitch!" she said, timing it with her index finger poking in my forehead.
"Put it inside your brain, you dumbass." Maica slouched back on her chair.
