"Pa (Pa is a short word for Papa or Dad), just drop me off here."
My papa swerved on the side of my school."Are you sure you don't want me to drive you to Bingag?" (Bingag is a place)
"Yes, we've talked about this already, are we going to argue again?"
"Okay-okay, I was just asking, I know you're a big girl now," he teased as he ran his big palm in my head.
"Papa!" I whined as I tugged the hem of my jacket.
My dad knew that I was gay since time immemorial. He once said that the day I was born, I didn't cry and only say 'barbie! barbie!'. I know it wasn't true because he will only preached about it either he was drunk or in our family gatherings. People often laugh when they heard that because it was hilarious, but that was the way my papa annoy or embarrass me in front of everyone. Papa jokes about it but I knew he was just making that day lighter since that was the darkest days of our lives, my mama died. Yes, my mama died the same day I was born.
I blinked few times when my eyes suddenly become cloudy.
"I'm going now."
I opened the door but before I could get out from his black SUV, papa held my hand."You almost forgot your Doctor's certificate. Show it to them as proof that you are not physically fit to be in the field," he said as he shoved the brown envelope in front of me.
I stared at it for few seconds before I grabbed it.
"Thanks, pa. I will."
I quickly kissed him in the cheek and get off from the car.I waved at him as he passed at me and drove away to his work. I put the envelop inside my Nike brown bag and crossed the road. I saw the multicabs (mulitcab is a transportation vehicle) lining up on the side of the road. Students wearing a white t-shirt that is tightly tucked in their black slacks filled the vehicle immediately. I was overwhelmed how the students were rushing to get a seat when there were still mulitcabs free and vacant.
"Kevin!!"
I've heard someone called my name, I spun and saw Abbygale fast approaching with her tumbler on her hand. She was wearing a white t-shirt tightly tucked on her black slack, the same outfit with everyone as well.
"Gale!! I'm so happy that I see you!" I told her, showing my delight as I gave her a quick hug.
By the way, her full name is Abbygale Mariano, she was my classmate and she became my friend instantly first day of school. She has a short hair and cute but pointy nose. I liked her so much because she was teaching me stuff that I don't know about, such as crossing the four lane road. Please don't judge me, the day she taught me how to cross was also the first day I got to cross. Only you have to do is raise your hand facing where the vehicles are coming from, and they will automatically slow down and halt. It feels like I have telekinetic powers. I could remember I was trembling during that time since my Papa prohibited me leaving from the campus nor crossing the road since it was dangerous.
"Me too but girl, why are you walking like you're in a music video? The multicabs are filling up. Let's go before they leave us here."
She was not wrong, there was only one multicab left. She gripped my wrist and dragged me inside the vehicle, squeezing our body as students were fighting for the remaining seats left. Finally, we have successfully got a seat. I was panting as I stared at her.
"Is this will be our Saturday's be like?"
"Sadly, but Yes," she said in a sympathetic tone.
"Well, I liked it," I told her smiling.
