We were sitting in a table of a caredenderia (it's like a small restaurant but with cheaper prices of food), eating our meal.

"I didn't see you earlier, Maica. What platoon are you?" I asked.

Maica was the second person I befriended at school, she was also my classmate. I think the reason why we three have become friends was because were seated together in our first class. It wasn't that exciting but we clicked smoothly. I wasn't expecting to have a friend like Maica, her personality was out of my league.  She has a long hair that fell down to her hips, she has piercings in her ears, 3 on the right side and 2 on the left. She wasn't that tall either, I bet they both Gale were 5'3 while me on the other hand was 5'4 and that made me the tallest in our group.

"Keviiiin! You always keep changing the topic and you're hanging Gale and me here," she said exasperatedly, putting her utensils down to her plate.

I stared at them as I gripped Gale's tumbler in my hands. By the way, Gale and Maica were interrogating me about what happened earlier, I mean what happened to me and Gorio. Since they have become my friends which approximately 2 weeks ago, I have not informed them that we were closed. And I don't think that I was obliged to tell everyone that I know him, right?

"Okay, okay," I said as I imaginatively wipe off the sweats in my forehead.

"Tell us when you're ready," Gale said as they sit properly.

"I will tell you everything if you tell me how on earth did you see us, are you guys stalking me?" I asked.

Maica stared at me tirelessly.

"Girl, we're not. Everyone saw you talking to him this morning," Maica replied to me.

My palms were beginning to sweat when I realized that I think I was opening a new revelation to this school.

"Um, why would everyone cares for it so much? He's just a student like us, except that we have to address him differently," I said as I let go a nervous laugh.

"Girl! Can't you understand? He's the damn perfect guy that we all wish to have, he's the the definition of tall, dark and handsome," Maica said dreamily.

"And?" I asked pretending that I wasn't aware of that fact.

"And the reason why this thing has escalated is because he hardly seen talking to anyone except for his classmates or cadets, until this morning," she said and eyed me suspiciously.

Gale nodded her head as she took a spoonful of rice to her mouth.

"I think you're exaggerating for using the word escalated? Like everyone interested about it so much."

Maica gave me that 'are you serious?' look as she pointed her thumb on the back of her seat. My eyes quickly followed her hand and I noticed that some students, more likely girls, were staring in our direction and it was palpable that they were eavesdropping.

"Okay, okay, I give up." I raised both of my hands in the air, accepting my defeat.

Gale and Maica smirked at me because they know they win again, like as always.

"He's just my childhood friend."

"How?" Gale asked.

"His grandmother is our neighbor and he used to live with her when he was a kid, that's the best reason to put all your assumptions to ashes," I said emphasizing my last word.

"Fair enough, that's a very legit reason why he had to talk to you," Maica said as she diverted her eyes passed through me.

I was relieved that they believed me like as if I was lying to what I have told them.
