"Babe, are you ready na ba? We are running late na. Malaki kaya role natin dun" I was walking back and forth inaalala kung may naiwan or nakalimutan pa ako.

"Babe, sa baba na ako maghihintay" I opened the door and went downstairs.

Its been two months since we got married. And almost a month since we transferred here sa bahay namin which was constructed pa noon. Before Mika came back. A week after we came back from the island, inaasikaso na ni miks ang every detail for the house. From the interiors up to the smallest. Pati kurtina hanggang glasswares. I never imagined her like that. Knowing she have been the baby of the family even the team.

"Babe, lets go" Mika was standing in front of me in her red cocktail off shoulder dress.

" ............"

"Oh, manong. Speechless ka nanaman. Tara na" she grab my hand at hinatak ako papuntang garahe.

I came back to my senses. I opened the door for her tapos sumakay na rin ako. We are on our way to a private gathering nung nadaanan namin yung stalls of fruits.

"Babe" Mika was leaning to me. May gusto tong asawa ko.

"Yes babe" I was looking at her like I know what she wants.

"hihi. Babe, balik tayo mamaya sa stall ng fruits ha? I wanna eat pomelo kasi"

"Yan lang ba? Okay"

"Yey!" she beams and kisses every part of my face.

"Babe, maya mo na ako pangigilan. Baka mabangga tayo"

"Hmp. Okay"

These past few days, hindi ko maintindihan si Miks, minsan masaya then magagalit. Baka her urethra is crying now kaya ganyan. Women are unreasonable at times when red days are on the way.

We arrived at the venue, and Von approached us.

"Paps! Buti naman nakarating ka. Youre late" Von

"Sorry paps, to kasing si Miks eh. Bagal"

"Bat ako nanaman, bahala ka nga dyan!" She walks out in front of me and Von looking like a child na hindi nabigyan nang candy.

"Yan kasi, suyuin mo yon"

"Cge2. Susunod nalang ako sa back stage"

The private gathering was organized by Von. He's going to propose to Lau any minute by now. We are just waiting for Laura to arrive at the venue e. Sa pagkakaalam ni Lau, tonight will be Von's parents anniversary party. So, before pa dumating si Lau, pinuntahan ko muna ang asawa ko.

"Babe, sorry na po" I plead

"Baby, please. Di na po mauulit"

".............."

"Babe, please? Bibilhin natin lahat nang gusto mo mamaya sa fruit stalls. Promise yan"

"Talaga?! Okay, I forgive you na" with matching hugs and kisses.

Pagkain lang talaga katapat nang asawa ko. Her happiness are the food she loves to eat, babaw nang kaligayahan. And that's why I love her more than she have ever known. She leaned to me, nagpapababy when Von called me na. Susunduin ko si Lau from the parking area. Ang palusot busy si Von kasi ang daming bisita. I kissed Mika's forehead and she giggled. Excited na daw siya sa proposal ni Von. She hugged me and after binantaan pa ako.

"Dalhin mo dito si Lau, walang labis walang kulang Ravena"

"Yes Maam" I salute to her like an army on a mission.

I went to the parking area and timing na nakababa na si Lau sa kotse niya.

"Oh kief, andito na pala kayo ni Miks. Asan si Von?" She asked

"Ah, actually pinasundo ka niya sakin kasi he's busy entertaining the guest e"

"Ah, okay. Let's go"

We are about to enter the venue nung iniwan ko si Lau sa entrance, sabi ko mag ccr ako.

I run backstage where Von is situated. On the screen, pictures of Von and Lau was being shown accompanied by a song rendered by a singer hired by Von. So Von, profess his true intentions and it goes this way

We never had any chance meeting each other till you was the courtside reporter of one season where I played. My teammates do have their own love life then, Kiefer was with Mika and so Thirdy was then courting Billie. Clint was pursuing Des that time. But me, I had nothing, I then realized I need to look for my partner. Some says, don't look for the love of your life, they'll come your way at the right time. But I never expected that the lady that I would want to spend my life with was right in front of me, taking down notes of what my team will be up to for the next games, someone who would observe our practices and shared it during halftime breaks and timeouts. A person, not only carrying a pretty face, but was engage into something that will help the community. Beauty with a purpose indeed. Lau, I love you. I love you not because I want to, but its my heart that dictates me to do so. I love you not because you are beautiful, but your good looking inside and out. I love you not because UAAP fanatics team us up, but I wanted us to be a team, a team that love will bind. I love you not because you love me too  but because loving you was the right thing to do. Ms.Lehmann, Im asking you infront of the people who loves us too, are you willing to my Mrs.Pessummal?

I am happy for the man who finally found his match. Von was there when I was at my lowest. He even sacrificed his own personal life just to support me in my endeavors on how I can keep track on Mika while my wife was away then. So now, its my turn to be the best man for my bestfriend. The guests gave their best wishes and congratulations to the newly engage couple.
