❛I DON'T WANT A WIFE.❜

Midoriya: Todoroki!
The two-toned teen looked back to see his close friend running up to him. The cold of winter was catching up to them, a white mist of air leaving his lips as he breathed. He lifted his scarf over his mouth as the green-haired boy caught up to him.
Izuku huffed, smiling.
Todoroki: Hello Midoriya.
Midoriya: How was your work-study?
The two friends started walking to campus together. The two-week-long work studies kept them busy for the most part, forcing them to skip class. This time around, a lot more of their classmates had the opportunity to work, and Todoroki had the chance to work with someone other than his father. Sure, the hero he worked with wasn't number one, nor did he have that many wins under his belt, but the change was refreshing.
He can only imagine what his father's been up to while he was away.
Todoroki: It was nice. I learned a lot from Infernal.
The greenette smiled brightly.
Midoriya: I'm glad! I knew you two would have compatible quirks since he controls flames and you make them. Your ice is already pretty strong, I figured you would want to work on your flames more without your dad. And since Infernal works on fire rescues as well as villain work, you would be getting a two-in-one lesson! Plus-
Todoroki tuned out for a bit. When his friend got like this it was hard to shut him up, so it was better to just ride the wave of his mumbling.
He was glad to have him, though. Without Izuku's advice, he might have given up on the search for a compatible hero and just gone with his father.
Midoriya: It does feel nice to be getting back to normal classes, doesn't it?
He nodded.
Todoroki: I wonder what everyone else has been up to. Most of our classmates had to have gotten stronger; I know Aizawa will use that in today's lessons.
Izuku agreed, nodding vigorously.
Midoriya: Have you spoken to your father?
Todoroki: No, and I don't plan to. He said he wants to meet me about something tonight, though.
The boy looked at his left hand.
Todoroki: He probably wants to scold me for going to someone else.
The day proceeded just as Todoroki thought it would; their sleep-deprived teacher worked them to the bone simply because they should understand that there's no time to rest in the real world. Todorki understood that. Villains and disasters don't give you time to breathe.
